Greg Summers (aka Sultan88) paased away this morning in a Petersburg, Virginia hospital. He's been sick for some time, but this news came as a total shock to me.
Greg was a kind, gentle man, who had a passion for all things that make America great...I am honored to consider him a good FRiend and he will be greatly missed by myself and all those who got to know his wisdom and sense of humor on FR.com. This is simply devastating news!!
My prayers go out to his family, including his son who we've come to know as 'yankhater" around here.

"It must have come suddenly..." He's been really ill for months, but he never really let on exactly how serious. He's been on a waiting list for a liver or kidney transplant for a long while, however, after a recent surgery, I had gottan the impression that he was on the mend. We were in the process of setting up a FReeper lunch get-together next Thursday...yeah, it came suddenly for me.

I will dig up the photo from the Braves game last summer and post it in his honor, if that's ok with Yank.
Sultan was a pilar to this community and to America. He was a great man and I feel blessed to have known him for a time.

I did not know sultan88, but it is always so sad when a Freeper passes on. Please, accept my sincerest condolences. I know he will watch over his family and friends here on earth and I'm sure he will be praying for us as we 'fight the good fight'. May God rest his soul, and comfort his family upon their loss.

Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks for a life so lived that strangers are touched by Greg's passing. I'm one of those, Father, who did not know him, but the words from friends who did are a testament to his goodness. Comfort each as only You can ... his family and his friends ... and may they rest in the assurance that the mourning of today turns into the joy of reunion tomorrow. In the Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen ...
