As someone who enjoys off-roading as well as hiking and MTB, I think it's reasonable to have restrictions for offroad motorized vehicles.

They do often wreck the trails (muddy ruts), as well as the experience (whiny motors) for other users of our forests.

I think all can be accommodated with a little common sense.
