Edwards has avoided discussing his son's death and has never allowed it to be used as a campaign theme.... ..... until now.

Why don't they do a Wellstone-type rally for the dead kid?
Why are Democrats so morbid? Even about their own dead?

until nowExactly. Expect another "Al Gore moment," with Edwards jerking every tear he can with some maudlin tale about his son's life, or, worse, him standing over his son as he died.
His son never smoked, did he?

He may not have used it as a campaign theme, but he darn sure used it for sympathy here in NC when he was elected!

How long before this becomes Bushs fault?

..... until now Good point. Perhaps the Urinal Ticket didn't get the bounce they expected so now they need to garner the sympathy vote. Democrats are just plain sick.

No, no, he has claimed that he would never use it (thereby using it, of course).

Just one more comment on this thread ~ it's not just that Edwards has used his dead son to advance both his financial and his political career, we must never forget that the Democrats attacked Mrs. Bush 4 years ago because she was the driver in an automobile involved in an accident that killed her then boyfriend.
Edwards IS fair game for this. He did kill his kid through sloth and indolence, if not outright negligence, and the Dems set him up for this anyway.
The Republicans would be correct to have no pity on this guy.
