"The ONLY time Ken Lay ever spent the night at the White House or Camp David was with Bill Clinton."

You sure? He isn't on the opensecrets.org white house guest list.

"It will be 'Bush's buddy Ken Lay is indicted'..."

Followed by some inane news about "Dick Cheney's former company, Halliburton".

My post wasn't made to you. You didn't even answer the right part of it.

Hey Dog, come back! :-) Can you post this with the names of the companies each worked for? And, the date of their crimes might be good.

Ann Richards knew him very well and got campaign cash from him when she was governor or Texas and running against W. I think we ought to post the entire list of who he gave money to in past campaigns.

How many times have you told him that Halliburton isn't an oil company, and now many more times will you have too till he starts to believe it?

More than I can count to the first part of the question, and probably more than I have the energy to do to the second part. I wish I had a $1 for all the times I've corrected him about Lay's relationship to President Bush and his predecessor, He-who-will-not-go-away. I'd be really, really rich.

"She's on the wrong website."

I take it you mean me. I suggest you reread my posts.

Why is it that both of you, neither of whom were addressed by me in the post you're both referring to, feel the need to attack me for a post you both obviously didn't read well enough to comprehend?

I would imagine we will see a few more names like Lay indicted before the election.

Say whatever you want about Bush, he has a fair amount of cunning.

I personally want to see Bernie Ebbers get his. I hope that is a pre election announcement too.

I give up. The above post should be to Phantom Lord, who wasn't addressed, misread the original post and answered the wrong part. Moonman answered the wrong part too.

Last week, a female co-worker who I sometimes ride the bus with emailed me an anti-Bush email saying - among other things - that Bush was "protecting" Lay and other Enron executives. She got mad (and now refuses to talk to me)when I pointed that was a lie and that several Enron executives were already indicted. I'll resist the temptation to email her the news about Kenny Boy.

FReepmail me her name and email and I'll take care of it without getting you involved!!;-)

The woman I'm talking about is impervious to facts; her opinions outpace her knowledge.

Same with a few that I know .. I just like to be a pain sometimes .. *L*

Those were all Enron employees with the exception of the British bankers who were in cahoots with Enron. I can't give you the specific dates of the crimes alleged, but it was an ongoing pattern of criminal behavior extending over several years.

CLINTON OFFICIAL MET WITH ENRON CHAIRMAN; $100,000 CASH DONATION TO DEMOCRATS TIMED TO PLANT APPROVAL

TIME MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER 1, 1997 On Nov. 22, 1995 President Clinton scrawled an FYI note to chief of staff Mack McLarty, enclosing a newspaper article on Enron Corp. and the vicissitudes of its $3 billion power-plant project in India.

McLarty then reached out to Enron's chairman, Ken Lay, and over the next nine months closely monitored the project with the U.S. ambassador to New Delhi, keeping Lay informed of the Administration's efforts, according to White House documents reviewed by TIME magazine. In June 1996, four days before India granted final approval to Enron's controversial $3 billion power-plant project, Enron's gave $100,000 to President Clinton's party.

Enron denies that its gift was repayment for Clinton's attention, and White House special counsel Lanny Davis says McLarty acted out of concern for a major U.S. investment overseas, TIME's Michael Weisskopf reported.

**** DRUDGE NOTE: McLarty was later hired by Enron. Lay also played golf with President Bill Clinton and slept in the Clinton White House. A master of political manipulation of both parties, Lay served as an adviser to the Clinton White House on energy issues. The Clinton administration, in turn, helped Enron get a contract for a gas pipeline in Mozambique and other projects, according to reports.
