I did not mean by my anology that France in WWII, like Iraq until a year and a half ago, was an enemy. The point I am trying to illustrate is that it was a necessary strategic and tactical necessity to first invade and liberate France in order to get at the enemy, Germany. In a similar way, speaking strategery, the invasion of Iraq was simply intended, among other things, to establish a bridgehead in the Middle East in the war that Islamic fascists have waged on us, and which we now wage on them. It is true that Iraq was just one of our enemies, as you have correctly pointed out. Saddam gave logistical support to terrorists, as other nations do, but that support is just one among many things he did by which he made himself a target. The invasion of Iraq, as opposed to invasion of the other countries that you have mentioned, who also give support to terrorists, was simply a justified strategic and tactical decision of the war in we we are now engaged.
Cordially,
