Kirk Douglas' Son, Eric, Found Dead

NEW YORK — Oscar-winning actor Kirk Douglas' (search) youngest son, who battled drug and alcohol problems for years, was found dead Tuesday inside an apartment building, police said.
Eric Douglas (search), 46, was discovered after someone flagged down a passing police car. There were no signs of foul play, police said. An autopsy was planned.
Eric Douglas was an aspiring actor and comedian, but he never found the success of his father or of his Academy Award-winning sibling, Michael Douglas (search). He had a short-lived acting career in the 1980s and early '90s, playing supporting roles in movies such as "Delta Force 3: The Killing Game." (search)
He also appeared in an episode of the HBO program "Tales From the Crypt" opposite his father, who earned an Emmy nomination for his role on the show.
In recent years, the youngest of Kirk Douglas' four sons drew attention more for his problems than for any performances. In a 2000 interview, he said he spent eight days in a coma after a pill overdose a year earlier.

Wow. The younger Douglas had trouble his whole life and seemed to be on the right track a few years ago.
The show was actually "Two-Fisted Tales" which was supposed to be a seperate series. It was gobbled up by Tales From the Crypt after it failed to do well.
I thought it was a great episode though.
Wow, I remember he was so strange. Seemed like someone who would fly off the handle without warning. May he rest in peace.

Just what I was thinking. Inspite of having every advantage he couldn't make it. Too bad.
I have to admit that it would be a little difficult waking up every morning in your $500 a month condo thinking of your brother living at his $20M estate and married to Catherine Zeta-Jones. If that wouldn't drive you to drink then nothing could.

Michael earned his money working! As for whom he is married to that has no bearing on anything. I hope Eric rests in peace and that Michael's heart will be healed in time. They have had much tragedy and I pray they will overcome this sad time.
Envy is the most destructive of feelings. Accepting who and what you are will make you the envied.

The general is ashamed when he learns that the rumors of the lieutenant (who is also his son) being a coward are true. He offers his son a way out of the army if he can take part in one last mission. The lieutenant panics and leaves while his comrades are killed by the enemy. His father sentences him to die by firing squad. Fortunately the guns are loaded with blanks...or so he says.
With such a rich family, did they extend financial support to him?
