The White House is complaining about KFI's John & Ken
The John & Ken Show ^ | 7-6-04 | self

The previous report "The Feds threatened L.A. radio station KFI?" has been partially confirmed.

According to today's John & Ken show (KFI-Los Angeles), a press secretary at the White House has contacted Ray Lopez, John & Ken's producer, and asked them to stop giving out Asa Hutchinson's phone number. Asa Hutchinson is the DHS Undersecretary responsible for immigration matters. No mention has been made of whether the threat to ban KFI reporters from DHS press conferences stands. However, the fact that the White House is now complaining strongly indicates that the call mentioned in the earlier post was not a hoax.

Apparently Asa can't get his work done because of all the calls from KFI listeners complaining about lax immigration enforcement.

Perhaps if they listened to the vast majority of citizens they wouldn't be facing this problem.

Thankfully, John & Ken don't appear to be giving in.

The White House has offered an alternate email address for Asa, but it apparently is just an unread drop-box.

I just tuned in at 3:40 PM. Right now John's saying that his mother has an honest-to-God American citizen gardener.

Administration bureaucrat tone-deaf alert.

Proper answer: "We appreciate all the calls in support of our agents enforcing US Law."

They have definately been after the Dept. of Homeland Security on this one. Did not hear them today, but I would not doubt they are on this one again.

John and Ken are complaining that a Border Patrol got in trouble for actually doing their job - rounding up illegals in the country in a raid it conducted in Southern California. John and Ken are asking people to call to request the Border Patrol keep up with the raids.

What is the number?
I was driving and could not write it down.

From John & Ken's site:

Call Gloria Chavez at Public Information Office at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection 202-927-1422 or gloria.chavez@cbp.gov

Call Department of Homeland Security 202-282-8000 or homeland@mail.house.gov

If you want to thanks the San Diego Border Patrol for taking care of business, you can e-mail them at sdc.pio@dhs.gov

Contact Asa Hutchinson, Under Secretary for Border & Transportation Security and tell him that you want the Border Partol to do their job! Call at 202-282-8355 or e-mail him at asa.hutchinson@dhs.gov . Also, contact Robert Bonner, Commissioner, U.S. Customs and Border Protection who sent out a memo for the Border Patrol to stop the sweeps at homeland@mail.house.gov or robert.bonner@dhs.gov

Contact your Congressman! Click here, and simply find your Congressman and let them know that if they don?t support the Border Patrol Sweeps, then they WILL NOT get your vote in November!

Here is the number that Homeland Security wants you to call: 1-877-287-8667 but don?t call after 3pm because it doesn?t work!

JMO, your reply is more like a "the Constitution is a suicide pact" tone deaf alert.

you all can follow the Howie Stern method. The DHS was conducting a few minor sweeps. That caused the whole Open Borders movement to explode in rage: marches were held, guest editorials were written, elected representatives complained. Rather than respecting the wishes of the great majority of citizens, the DHS/White House caved in to a small number of vocal activists. How else would you suggest letting them know that their caving in was not a popular move? Go to petitiononline.com or something?

I've been listening since around 3:30, and yes, Hutchinson's office is getting tons of calls. That the guy would dare to complain that he "can't do his job" when the very reason people are calling is because he won't let Border Patrol do its job...well, as time goes on, we get to see just how ill-equipped some people are for the positions they hold.

John is talking to Michelle Malkin right now (Ken's off this week). She mentioned that the total percentage of Hispanic voters in the US is somewhere around five percent. So this is what all the Hispandering is supposed to gain? This is what they're ready to sell the country out for? Amazing, but not surprising.

Dane: There's nothing wrong with e-mailing Hutchinson and we should be able to contact public officials.

I'm guessing their show is on when I'm not able to listen, but they probably have a website too. We have got to fight the invasion by mexican illegals. Simple as that.

I don't think that Asa is on *our* side. I think he is on the *Republican* side. That is a subtle, but important, difference.

No maybe trusting them to do the right things without going knee jerk.

Antics like yours just gives fuel to the fire and succor to your opponents and maybe instead of you going knee jerk, give people like Asa Hutchinson some breathing room.

Asa Hutchinson is not the adversary, the modern liberal press and demos are.

Think about it, before going knee jerk.

I don't think that Asa is on *our* side

He is probably on your side 85% of the time.

Oh I forgot he is not perfect, time to throw him to the wolves and put in someone who agrees with you 0% of the time.

Sheesh you cut your nose to spite your face conservatives can be so transparent sometimes.
