July 6, 2004 -- REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — When Scott Peterson's double-murder trial resumes today, defense attorney Mark Geragos is expected to go on another rant and ask the judge to dismiss the case due to prosecutorial misconduct.
Geragos' ire revolves around the testimony of a police detective who recounted for the jury a tip he had received just after Scott Peterson's arrest but dismissed as implausible.
Modesto Detective Allen Brocchini told the jury that a college classmate of Peterson's told him how the defendant had once described how he'd commit the perfect murder.
"He said he would tie a bag around the neck with duct tape, put weights on the hands and throw it into the sea," Brocchini testified.
Geragos is expected to accuse prosecutors of letting Brocchini embellish his account to explain an error or omission made at Peterson's expense.
Brocchini said there were other statements by the classmate.......

REDWOOD CITY -- When Laci Peterson's body washed up on a shore of the San Francisco Bay in April 2003, a line of duct tape was wrapped around the lower torso.
The grisly detail was first seen by jurors in the Scott Peterson double-murder trial in a photograph displayed during the prosecution's opening statement. Duct tape was mentioned in the courtroom last week by Modesto police Det. Al Brocchini -- the lead investigator in Laci Peterson's disappearance and murder -- who described a phoned-in tip he received a week after her body was found.
The tip came from one of Peterson's former acquaintances. According to Brocchini's report, the acquaintance said Peterson gave a detailed account in 1995 of how he would dispose of a corpse by tying "a bag around the neck with duct tape, put weights on the hands, and throw it into the sea" where fish could eat away at it, making it hard to identify. ......

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — The juror who got kicked off the Scott Peterson jury claims he's received hate mail and death threats for criticizing the prosecution — and says he's so scared, he's moving to another state.
Justin Falconer, 28, told The Post that after saying he believed prosecutors haven't proven Peterson's guilt, he became a lightning rod for trial-watchers.
He said he's complained to the San Mateo Police Department about the threats, and he and his girlfriend are arranging to get out of Dodge........

REDWOOD CITY -- It's the prosecution's disjointed story, legal experts say, that likely has jurors in the Scott Peterson double-murder trial questioning what really happened to his pregnant wife.
But there may be a good reason for their failure to weave the cohesive tale.
Prosecutors don't have enough hard evidence to be forceful in their claim that Peterson committed the crime -- neither cause nor time of death, no weapon and no witnesses who saw him do it.
"Those things are the heart of their story and they just don't have it," said Robert Talbot, a professor at the University of San Francisco School of Law.
Defense lawyers are confident they can pick apart the alleged motive -- an affair with a woman Peterson had only known a short while.
But they aren't without their own challenge: how to explain, convincingly, why the bodies of Laci Peterson and the couple's fetus surfaced just two miles from where Scott Peterson claims he fished alone the day his wife vanished.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - Prosecutors spent the bulk of last week portraying Scott Peterson as a lying cheat who maintained a relationship with his mistress even after his pregnant wife, Laci, had vanished.
The woman who introduced Peterson to his mistress testified that when she first met him, Peterson never mentioned he was married and told her he had "lost" his first love.
Shawn Sibley said she later set him up with massage therapist Amber Frey, the same woman who prosecutors claim was Peterson's motive to murder his wife........

I wonder if Amber was given this watch??? Along with the missing diamond earrings?? Apparently this psychiatrist that was speaking on CC didn't rate Mr. Peterson very well. I believe the word Socio/Psycopathic behaviour exhibited was mentioned if reported correctly by someone who viewed the program.
NO FOOLIN!! Let's see Geragos put up or shut up!! What I cannot believe is "absolute willingness" of the Court TV program anchors to announce "BOMBSHELL EVIDENCE" etc. as a come on and not be brought to account. They are UNethical if they use this information fed to them by "Defense" sources who are so OBVIOUSLY attempting to affect Juror opinions. I'm not sure I even trust these sitting jurors to not watch and listen to this stuff. I just don't have the confidence in them that I would like to. I hope they prove me COMPLETELY WRONG.
I certainly don't mean to criticize YOU, Maggie--and there's plenty of ammo against the Johns! (LOL, wonder which kind of johns they are... that name is fitting for politicians, come to think...)
You think so Maggie??? I can't quite equate the brutality of this crime with the bill REGARDLESS of whether they are PRO-death or not. But you could be right. Some of the rabid pro abortion crowd could be affected by this. Although, I wouldn't care IF they gave him Life with NO chance of parole EVER just as long as he's convicted. However, I WANT to see him get the Death Penalty but then I'm not on the Jury.
Of course, CO, we cannot abort our babies and expect to survive! Abortion is counter to every human instinct, and to every noble impulse that is built into the human spirit. But sweeping federal laws always make me uneasy, b/c they get turned around in unimaginable ways, and the federal government has way too much power anyway!

I agree about sweeping laws Dev. Remember, I live in an ever progressing Socialist society which is counter to EVERYTHING I believe. We "almost" got rid of the Liberals but that is NOT enough. Scott denied having affair to Mansfield in a 2 and a half hour interview on the 25th of Dec.(DOJ expert interrogator)...Scott said Laci was wearing black pants and white top...Said Laci carried pepper spray (found in purse hanging in closet?) because of fear of the homeless at the park.
Cross exam showed all Scott's truth telling...He is honest except about affair....see?/sarcasm

The importance to Geragos is that it was pawned by Deanna Renfro of "brown van" fame...The description does not match the description of Laci's missing watch.Talking heads, not testimony
Reports of a wiretap beween Jackie and son over the Scott giving baby furniture to Peterson family memebers who were expecting a baby and call back from Scott, saying better hold off for appearances sake....Rumor alert.
If Broncchini was there ,ready to go with thick notebook...when will the huge tirade by Geragos occur, the devastating recross, the mistrial, the prosecutor cited for misconduct?Hmmmmm?
When will we know? Will it come as Geragos's Thursday afternoon's cliff hanger "bombshell buzz"??..Will the pundit's spend the weekend tut, tutting?...Will they fall for it again?
Except for the fact that no mention was made of a polygraph and no mention was made as to "truthfulness". Geragos asked if SP was cooperative not truthful. Where do these people get their info? As if I didn't know.
When it comes right down to it - Laci married into an EVIL family. No question. I have NO doubt that Peterson's KNOW and have KNOWN since early on (first few weeks after Laci missing this telephone call occured), which makes their indignation in the media completely abnoxious and sick!!
FOR APPEARANCES SAKE????? HOW ABOUT....JUST IN CASE LACI AND CONNOR ARE FOUND??? SHE WAS STILL "MISSING" AT THAT POINT, YES?

If you were an expectant mother, wouldn't you get the creeps getting furniture that had belonged to a little baby who was "missing" or dead? I mean, if the grieving parents offered it to you, you might take it to avoid hurting them, but wouldn't you still maybe secretly buy your own baby furniture?
And clearly it was not the grieving parents offering it in this case.
I've been pleasantly surprised to hear how many jaded, godless, cynical media types have referred to him as "Connor" or "Laci's baby".
Let me guess: Deanna is nowhere to be found? And neither is her husband?
Boy, Scott sure wanted that stuff outa there fast, didn't he? What is it about this man--his total disdain for his own child? I don't get it. It's totally counter to what I think of as normal human instincts.
Let's see. The Geneva watch, which she wore more often, was found, right? I have to go back and look at misfitting's summaries again, to see the part where Geragos is waving the pawn ticket around while the jewelers or pawn shop people testified.

The "mopping the floor in black pants story" was again testified to and that is very important to the 10 minute timeline between Scott's cell phone call at 10:08 on the way from his neighborhood to the warehouse and the 10:18 the dog was found and placed back into the yard.
Once more..10 minutes to mop, change clothes into stone (tan, beige) colored pants, leash the dog and get kidnapped....(Eyewitnesses who saw a pregnant woman in black pants did not see Laci.)
O'Reilly:Aphrodite Jones and Stan Goldman/Introducing baby's body in color emotional...Geragos trying to implant idea baby's body planted to frame Scott...The Fire Chief wrote in notes baby 6 months to 1 year old...use it to create doubt about coffin birth, baby kept alive..blah blah ....Just creating doubt is Geragos's defense.
