I would think that Communism would be even less compatible with Islam than Democracy.

Americans funding the communist is nothing new. It's been going on for a very long time.
And our "government" will turn a blind eye to, as always.

That should change the tune of the Democrats and the media. If the Communist could be installed into the new government, they would be pressing for American success.

The State Department's striped pants crowd have finally found an even better party to back than the Baathists. Why am I not surprised...

It's important to note that the ICP has been very peaceful and well-behaved since before the liberation of Iraq. They are not Stalinists... Saddam was closer to Stalin than the ICP is.

I wonder how much of the vote they could expect to receive? Less than 5%, I would guess. The only Iraqis who would vote for them would be young "intellectual" types.

I'll take atheist lefties over the islamofacists any day.
We may disagree with them on economci issues, but at least they don't want a global jihad and endless suicide attacks on their enemies.

I must have missed the details of how the communists are represented in the present government.

USAID is an unconstitutional body that distributes foreign aid outside of the control of congress.

I must have missed the details of how the communists are represented in the present government. You and me both.
Farah's got some kind of jones against the Iraqi government. For some reason, he wants it to fail so his bullshit predictions can be proven true, and his opposition to George W. Bush can be justified.
Joseph Farah is not to be trusted. The TSA better check him every time he goes through the metal detector.

But apparently for some reason you've got some kind of jones against Farah....

What's your beef? Joe Farah despises GWB.
He'll jack up any pretense to rip the President.

FYI He was a rabid Bush supporter in the last election. He has since objected to many of the Bush policies, as do many of us.
He doesn't want Iraq to fail. He just doesn't want to see US troops lives shed in vain...nor do I. To install another Islamofacist government after sacrificing so much is horrific. I agree with Farah.
