The Raw Deal: John Kerry's Campaign Trail Amnesia
George W. Bush ^ | July 3, 2004

Posted on 07/05/2004 4:47:58 PM PDT by RWR8189

"John Kerry's campaign trail amnesia is either a disconcerting departure from his record and votes or a willful effort to deceive the voters of America's heartland. When the Senator ranked most liberal in Congress says he represents 'conservative values,' when someone who supports the death tax says he's looking out for family farmers, when someone who gets an F from the NRA says he supports hunters, and when someone who votes against medical liability reform says he's going to lower health care costs, the American people need to think twice about whether they can trust a candidate who changes his 'values' with the political winds."

-Gov. Marc Racicot, Bush-Cheney '04 Campaign Chairman

Kerry Claims To Represent "Conservative Values"

Kerry Says He Represents "Conservative Values."  "Kerry dismissed suggestions that he is out of touch with rural Americans. 'I actually represent the conservative values that they feel,' he told a television interviewer in Minnesota, citing his pledge to balance the federal budget and strengthen the country's standing internationally."  (Matea Gold, "Kerry Gets a Little Bit Country in Bid for Rural Vote," Los Angeles Times, 7/3/04)

Kerry's "Values" Are Out Of The Mainstream Of America's Priorities

Kerry Supports Billions Of Dollars In New Government Spending And Would Raise Taxes On America's Working Families.

Kerry Has Voted For Higher Taxes On Middle Class Families Hundreds Of Times:

At Least Ten Times In The Last Decade, Kerry Opposed Or Voted To Block Medical Liability Reforms Which Would Lower Health Care Costs For All Americans.

Kerry Opposed Body Armor, Combat Pay And Health Care For Our Troops On The Front Lines In Iraq And Afghanistan.

Kerry Opposed And Skipped The Vote On The President's Energy Bill, Which Would Increase Renewable Energy Usage:

Kerry Opposes Common Sense Measures Supported By A Majority Of His Fellow Senators And By A Majority Of Americans

Kerry Voted Against The Laci Peterson Law, Known As The "Unborn Victims Of Violence Act."  This new law acknowledges a common-sense proposition: When a crime of violence against a pregnant woman kills or injures her unborn child, there are two victims, and two offenses that should be punished.

Kerry Has Voted Against Requiring Parental Notification For Abortion For Minors.

Kerry Has Voted Against Death Penalty At Least 18 Times.

Kerry Voted Against 1996 Defense Of Marriage Act, Which Banned Federal Recognition Of Gay Marriage And Same-Sex Partner Benefits.  "[T]he bill to ban federal recognition of gay marriages and authorize states to refuse to recognize same-sex marriages conducted in other states. The bill effectively prohibits the federal government from allowing same-sex partners to receive spousal or survivor benefits under such programs as Social Security and government pensions, or to receive preferential treatment under the tax code."  (H.R. 3396, CQ Vote #280: Passed 85-14: R 53-0; D 32-14, 9/10/96, Kerry Voted Nay)

Why can't it be both?

If what you have been selling isn't working, time to re-invent the product. Or at least put it in a new package.

Years ago, somebody tried to tell me that FDR was only trying to 'conserve' the values of America. That was a little bit like saying clear-cutting entire sections of virgin woodlands somehow 'conserved' the forest. Fortunately, most of what FDR first proposed was ruled unConstitutional by the Supreme Court of the time.

Fortunately, most of what FDR first proposed was ruled unConstitutional by the Supreme Court of the time.

That was the NRA (National Recovery Act) symbolized by the "Blue Eagle", which was plastered all over everywhere in the workplaces.

The Supreme Court ruled the NRA unconstitutional. So FDR proposed to pack the Court, to increase its membership to 13, the four additional members to be appointed by FDR, of course.

That threat so frightened the Supremes of that day that they never crossed Roosevelt again, IIRC. And from that, again IIRC, we got the all-encompassing interpretation of the Commerce clause to justify any action that FDR wanted to take.

In this photo of the Kerrys it looks like they are saying to the little people... "Let them eat cake! Hurry up and eat the lousy BBQ and go home already!" I bet they don't usually mingle with the riff raff like this!

Sen. John Kerry addresses a crowd at a barbecue he and his wife, Teresa, hosted outside Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Did you ever read a long history about FDR? My son had to study about him and his SOUND MONEY POLICY for a college history test. One LONG source we found online in a PDF file said FDR got the idea for Social Security from what Hitler was doing in Germany before the war!!!!!!

And they wonder why we call them Liberals, Socialists, etc.

No they don't. The Kerry's would feel more comfortable being at a garden party complete with fine linen and china.
