Don't believe it yet. I think Gephardt is a bad choice. Yes, he is capable of the nastiness that is sometimes required of a VP candidate, but he has a record of losing and is another inside Washington guy.

None of the three choices indicates a break with Bush on Iraq, actually.

Maybe Kerry wanted to pick someone who no one will question is competent for the job, and can hold his own against Cheney. I don't think Edwards fits that bill, and I don't think Edwards' wears well over time. We shall see. Conventional wisdom is that it will be either Edwards or Gephardt, who have been tested in the limelight, and I agree with the conventional wisdom. But I don't think Kerry likes Edwards much.

By the way, you are right not to believe it yet. But if Kerry is trying to deflect and confuse, he is being too clever by half.

I will stick to my guns. Dean is the best pick for Kerry.

makes him look Presidential.

Bring in the psyco Nader votes

Washington outsider.

I also think Kerry is arrogant enough to think he just needs to steal half of the Nader votes to win.

Dean is the best choice for a losing ticket. Shakes it up, gets people talking, gets the base fired up. Yes I have convinced myself he will pick Dean.
