No that was algore. Incidentally, algore's mother lullabied him with "look for the union lable" years before it was written.

And they say the hildabeast is the world's smartest woman.

Kerry had no perfect bullet perfect choice, but if I were him, I would pick Gephardt. I would do it, because I think he would make a competent president, and will be a competent campaigner, who knows the issues. This stuff about who can do what with whom, where, is all overdone. The key is to find the long distance runner, who has gravitas, and will do no harm. It is Kerry himself, or exogenous events, or Bush malapropisms, who will have to swing the swing into his column.

All right, you want to have fun? KerryRichardson04.org and KerryRichardson04.com are registered to the same people who have registered the other domain names for the Kerry campaign.

What about Gov. Bob Holden? or Gov. Michael Easley (NC)?

Even though I posted one of these Gephardt stories yesterday, I agree -- it'll be Edwards. Kerry doesn't have the cojones to defy the same Democratic establishment that worked so hard to hand him the nomination. People like McAuliffe want Edwards, and they will get what they want.

Yes, the VP hasn't really mattered since JFK/LBJ. A Washington outsider always benefits by choosing an insider to bring "gravitas" (groan). Otherwise, you really can't deliver a region and Florida is the only close state that could benefit by choosing a favorite son. The other large states are too far left (or in the case of Texas, right) to change.

It would say a lot about the dynamics of the campaign. "Gephardt" says that Kerry's playing it safe. "Edwards" or "Vilsack" suggests some risk-taking. We all know Kerry is one who plays it safe. If I were advising Kerry I would insist on Edwards. If I were Kerry, I'd reject that suggestion.

I still think it could be Hillary.

The Clinton's learned from Arnold that the best way to build suspense is to deflect completely.

If it is Hillary, we're in big trouble.

Lawton Chiles, who beat Jeb, is dead. Thus he is unlikely to be selected.

Never stopped themin the past....look at Missouri.

By the way, my grandmother grew up in Winterset (the farm is still owned by the family (my mother and aunt), and has since 1872), her husband in Red Oak, and her son, my uncle, went to college in Ames. My mother grew up in Davenport. I want to go to Lancaster County before I die, and of course, Gettysburg, to commune with my ancestors.

You are about the 10th poster to pick up the dead theme. :) I knew it would happen when I did it. Pubbies often like to blame the dead when they lose, and they usually just lost, period. LOL.

I can't find anything on the ABC News site saying that Edwards is the one.

I see it another way. I think the unions want Gephardt and that's where all the pressure comes from.

Rush was saying the rumor mill says Kerry resents Edwards as Edwards is too new to be running for the presidency.

I look at it like this. With Gephardt and his lack of charisma, Kerry can't win. Edwards brings that, but the man is a trial lawyer. Once you get over the flash, he's rotten inside. So I can see why Kerry would want McCain. I'll tell you, I think Kerry would have a real chance with McCain.
