Could you clarify the Laura Ingraham reference?
Yeah.
On her radio show this past week, Laura started doing a new feature. She takes the statements of Madeline Albright, Richard Holbrooke, and other mealy-mouthed weasels who say things like:
"Turning over power to the Iraqis is a very important step, but considering all of the failures and problems we have in Iraq, it's a sad day as we march on to our inevitable defeat."
You know, really stupid stuff. And it always comes after a BUT.
So Laura edited the tapes to insert a deep male voice before the "but" saying "BUTTMONKEY" and then we hear some "eee'ing" of what sounds like monkeys, and then the clip goes on to the "but we are headed down the path of failure" part of their formulaic tripe. I find it to be hilarious.
I just thought I'd add it in here because it fit.
