Nancy Reagan's Letter To America. A must read and wow, how touching. You will be as moved as I was upon reading it. And look at the date it appeared it the Los Angeles Times! The Gipper would have loved it. Now let's go out there and keep winning those battles in the pursuit for freedom for him and his beloved America.

Beautiful letter.
Everyone should go to this link and click on pictures from the funeral.
It is a slide show of images from President Reagan's funeral and it is accompanied by "Mansions of the Lord".
Take tissues with you.

The full text of the letter can be found in this graphic from the Reagan Memorial website:
www.ronaldreaganmemorial.com
Could an alternate source for this text be found than the anti-FR LA Times? After all, I doubt that Nancy Reagan was paid by the LAT for her letter or considered a staffer.

I saw that thread some time ago. When I play it, the tears return.
In 1971 I sat one klick away from the East West German border; it was the ugliest thing I had ever seen. When the wall finally fell, I thought of Ronald Reagan. What an accomplishment of his!
How few men can look back over their lifetime and know that they gave somebody their liberty? He was the leader this world needed at the time we needed him.
In the funeral tribute, you saw the love and respect that his fellow Americans bestowed upon him. It is something I will never forget.
God Bless Nancy Reagan

She submitted it as a private letter just like every other reader does. It was NOT published in the op-ed section.

No kidding. Every time I look at these pictures the tears start flowing. I loved Reagan and what he stood for.

Thanks so much for the link. You're right, the tears were running down my face through the whole thing!
Good music to put with that, I think.

In Reagan's memory, I feel the stem cell research ban should be lifted, per Nancy's request.

I love that music. That's what they were playing when they moved President Reagan's casket out of the National Cathedral.
