lady told me one time that the only reason God made man was because vibrators can't buy drinks and dinner!!!

Somehow that reminds me of a cartoon I once saw, where two women are sitting at a bar, and one says to the other something like: "Ever wonder what a world without men would be like?" And the other woman says: "There'd be lots of fat, happy women."

LOL....

" there is an air about this article suggesting that the "Blue State" Sophisticates are having a laugh at the expense of those in the heartland"

Let 'em laugh all they want. As long as they're busy laughing at us, they aren't planning to move here.

"Do Blue States not have these parties?"

What do they need parties for? They can just run down to the corner sex toy and deviance store.

Another fine example of Capitalism at its finest. At least the woman isn't on welfare or on a street corner begging for beer money.

Very good points, IMO.

However, I would also add I found some of her comments (as posted in my reply #1), to be quite poignant, in that for all her monetary success, she seems to regret missing out on a college education.

This hardly qualifies as breaking news

That's why I didn't post it in breaking news.

[Good] for this lady that she has an [honest] business and seems to be very successful at it....

And, that was my point, too. See my post #1. Thanks for your post.

I wish I had not seen this. This is soft porn, it doesn't even belong on this forum.

Re your post #118 -- I've thrown alot of home parties...Pampered Chef, Southern Living, Creative Memories, etc....but the one time I threw a Pleasure Party, I must have had forty women lined up to shop in the "private room". I'm telling you I've never seen anything like it! It was hilarious!

LOL...now, GatorGirl, you are the only on this thread who claims to have hosted one of these parties. And, here is what I would like to ask you - what kind of information does the company actually provide to women hosting these parties, in terms of selling? Here's why I ask:

A long time ago I once went to a party for something -- I think it was bathing suits, or some type of clothing -- and the only reason I went is because I felt so sorry for the woman who was having it, as she was trying to help pay for the college education of her kids, and was already working two jobs (and one place where she worked is where I worked at the time).

She made it sound to me like if I went, then, she gets credit or something from her company just for having more people show up. So, I went -- not planning to buy.

But, when I got there, to her home, far from being a low-key, mellow gathering of women, it turned out to be most high-pressured sales environment I'd ever experienced. I felt like unless I bought something at this party, I might not be let out the door to leave!

Consequently, I have always wondered - is that the way these companies tell their people to have parties? To make sure everyone who goes actually buys something?

Because I much prefer to shop at my own pace, without being pressured to buy something, and for that reason, I doubt I will ever go to another one of these parties for anything.

Yet, I am glad there are women out there making money from these parties, and other women seem to enjoy hosting and attending these parties.

However, I certainly did not enjoy attending, because not buying something does not seem to be an option.

The writer was certainly titillated with the notion that Christian women who read the Bible could also be passionate wives who are comfortable with their sexuality and enjoy marital relations.

Based on some of the sex-phobic comments of many of the religious Freepers on threads like this, I'm not sure she's totally off-base.

I don't think there's anything wrong at all with people having different levels of comfort in publicly discussing personal topics.

I do believe people shoud have access to information about sex, but how, when and why they choose to get it is not my concern. To each his own, especially when religion is concerned.

Sorry, Long Cut, but the idea that sex can be just for fun is a pagan idea, not a Christian one.

Well, then Christianity got it wrong on this issue. wouldn't be the first time.

A person who eats for reasons other than nutrition is ultimately going to get sick

I see, so there is no reason to eat food that tastes good because doing so would mean you are eating it for reasons "other than nutrition."

Steak at Morton's Steakhouse is a sin, then?

They can laugh if they want-- my wife is 105 lbs. :)

I'm VERY happily married too! My comments were just a bit of fun with Laz- not to be taken seriously by any stretch...

PS MY comments to you were in the context of this article, which concerns adults. I notice on your profile page you cite the Simpsons as a source of much of your knowledge. That's OK with me, just as it is OK with me if another adult wants to cite the Bible, or, prefers to rely on the woman in this article for certain information. Like I said, to each his own.

I don't think there is anything wrong with enjoying the pleasures of the senses for their own sake. Those pleasures were given by God, and they have their own dignity, even if they fall far, far short of higher spiritual joys.

Should one abuse them? No. But is it wrong to have an ice cream cone with no regard to nutrition? Is that the sin of gluttony?

A pure man in perfect union with God no doubt eats, sleeps, and procreates as an expression of divine glory. That is the ideal. But an ordinary man can have a hint of the divine when he has sex, and I think that is only for the good.
