Why were guns pulled? That seems real unusual.
And they knew that before the raid?
Even though drug dealing and guns go hand-in-hand? Even though drugs were being dealt by an organized group of individuals (complete with lookouts) in the school hallway? Even though they had a report that the Friday before a student was threatened with a weapon?
How about this... they have vidoe tape of kids allegedly dealing drugs. How about the detain and question those kids, rather than storm an entire hallway harrassing the entire student body?
"They're pretty knowledgeable in terms of where to stand. They know where the cameras are. If they stand directly under them, the cameras don't look directly down," Aarons said. "Faculty can view the students from other cameras, but from quite a distance away. They see silhouettes."
Right, they can't see the actual transaction take place under the camera, but they've got a pretty good suspicion of whats happening. They should then be able to tell by them walking toward or away from the cameras which students are involved, and then take the issue up with them only.
Don't apologize, you are right on target.
It makes me sick to see what the police have become. Wannabe military types with buzzcuts that think that we 'peons' are beneath them.
These civil servants should have their pistols taken away from them when on duty in case their aim is any better than their judgment.
And they knew that before the raid?
If they had expected weapons, then all 15 would have drawn their guns instead of two or three holding their guns at the ready.
"Storming" a suspect with overwhelming force is the best way to prevent the suspect from even thinking about using a weapon.
They had a report of a weapon.
Not in a crowd of children, it isn't.

You are posting to a stone JBT apologist.
The man is impermeable.
The cops did nothing illegal. Did you read the article? Can you read? N-O-T-H-I-N-G I-L-L-E-G-A-L.
Absolutely amazing -- the drug behavior you'll tolerate and defend, all because you want your precious recreational drugs to be legal. What a selfish and irresponsible attitude.
Like villains in an old movie, they done it all 'nice and legal'.
You crack me up!
