US drone swoops low over Miranshah(Pakistan)

MIRANSHAH: An unmanned US drone made low flights over the Miranshah bazaar and adjacent areas in the North Waziristan Agency on Thursday since authorities feared foreign elements had reportedly tried to take refuge there after leaving the South Waziristan Agency where a military campaign was still underway.

Witnesses said the drone remained in the area for about an hour. “It came so low at some points that we were quite frightened,” said an eyewitness.

Intelligence reports suggested Al Qaeda suspects were trying to slip into other tribal agencies after they were flushed out from South Waziristan during the recent army operation. People in the area believed the drone flight in the area was aimed at monitoring suspects in the bordering areas.

US drone swoops low over Miranshah(Pakistan)

I'm sure it would violate some Geneva convention and/or be technically challenging...
but I'd love to see a Predator/drone equipped with a shortened Barret .50 cal
for use as "just one shot Nick" device.

Yeah, I know we're not suppossed to use .50 cal BMG rounds against humans.
But some of these bad actors are just animals that have perfected the art of
human vocalization while standing on their hind paws.

They're already equipped with Hellfire missiles.

I knew it they are on to someone...I found this article posted at Daily Times 10 days ago.

Troops raid suspected terrorist hideout

The joint raid was carried out in Dandey Drapakhel Mountains, close to Miranshah Bazaar. Eyewitnesses added that Pakistani troops arrived in the area around 6:00 am and took up positions adjacent to a Madrassa. American Special Forces personnel escorted by Pakistani commandoes later reached the area. There were three Americans and about 150 Pakistani soldiers. The troops surrounded a godown belonging to one Haji Janan, who denied links to terrorists. There were no terrorists in the godown. According to eyewitnesses, a shot accidentally fired by a Pakistani soldier generated fear among the locals. However, nobody was hurt. An American was reported to be filming the entire scene. Both the Pakistani and the US soldiers left the area in white vehicles.

Yes, that's true and very impressive when used.

But I guess I've just got a slight mean-spirited streak in my otherwise milquetoast self.
When I see the crowds of jackals in Iraq having a victory party over charred bodies...
I just have a nasty wish to see the crowd's reaction when a crowd leader,
preferablly whipping up the crowd while standing atop a SUV, has his
head turned into one large red aerosol by a .50 BMG round from nowhere.
Or he suddenly has a gaping, fist-sized hole in his torso.

File this under "nasty ways to reach out and touch someone" in order to send a message.

As in "don't attack convoys" or else.

What the kerry is a "godown"? Is it a market stall? (the operation took place in a bazaar or near to one)

Boot this Miramshah(sp) is roughly 15 miles from Shawal.....remember I told you that one of the video's of Binny and Ayman were filmed in that area. I wonder who they were looking for at that madrassa.

Napalm is much better than 50 BMG on the crowds. MUCH better.

We could run his child through a meat grinder.

Yes, if you want to kill the whole crowd.
What I was looking for was a "silencer" AND a "persuader".

As opposed to a manned drone?

Nah, I was just musing about taking the wind out of those sorts of crowds...
with the least bloodshed.

And not visiting the sins of the father on the son would be another nice outcome.

I haven't looked up the dictionary definition of drone...
but I suspect you've just revealed yourself to be over-qualified for the
job of journalist.
(that's a compliment!)
