That didn't stop them in 2002 when the rest of the nation roundly rejected the Dems but Louisiana managed to send the despicable Mary Landrieu back into the Senate after a runoff.

Of course, she had been in her stealth "conservative" mode for two years voting with Bush on tax cuts and pro-life measures. Chris John has never won a state-wide election and despite being a John Breaux "moderate", he won't have a voting record to back it up.

Well, it's the same thing as in 2003. Louisiana seems to have this strange affection for John Breaux. He strikes me as a total jerk, but, they take his word as a new chapter of the Gospel.

This time, though, we have a much stronger, well-funded candidate, the strongest we've had in Louisiana since......um...... Mary Landrieu turned that race around in the final days in 2002 without the national party. If John or Kennedy have skills they can do the same, maybe, but we'll see.
