"It is a very underreported story, but the DemocRATS have been all over nursing homes and mental health facilities securing patient votes."

I recall this from the last election. It is very sad that such poor people are being used. My dear departed mother-in-law voted Dem until her dying day. She didn't know where she was or who was running, but she had enough left to know that she was supposed to vote--DEM! It really aggravated me that she was so used by the Dems. I know that it is practically heresy to suggest, but I do believe there should be some sort of test of mental capacity before voting (and driving!).

No, absolutely you must use "by". Bound by infers that there is an inherent nature of constricting restraint in it.

And constricting restraint is kinda the point of the Constitution, isn't it? ;)

I hear that the Black Caucus wants the UN to come in and monitor our election. They have made a written request for this to happen.

Yep.

Thanks for the "PING"

The socialists a.k.a. Democrats, will be working hard to spoil these elections coming up --- originally, in order to force us into a government by judiciary, yet especially now, more to make the U.S. voting system look foolish before the eyes of the Iraqis.

When election time comes, you can bet that the liberal media networks will be interviewing Iraqis for the purpose of repeating any and all demoralization of the democratic-republican process.

For your information, I told Ghost that that was a picture of his "gal," meaning: since I thought he was a DU plant, THAT was a picture of his GAL...........meaning HITLERY. I sure wouldn't be that cruel to any wife or girlfriend to compare them to such a beast. But Ghost took it that I meant his WIFE! That's a crock.

SheLion, I must apologize to you. I am very sorry that I completely misunderstood you, and I take responsibility for that.

I'm not DU or Troll or whatever, and the thought never entered my silly head to look at your post and that ugly thing from a troll's point of view.

Things got out hand last night, I got more riled up than was appropriate. I want your vote counted, and I hope that you can see it make the difference that it should.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

There was a small article in the Seattle paper about a Florida newspaper that is trying to call into question the updated voter rolls by claiming that there are over 2000 names on the no vote list that should be allowed to vote because the people received clemency. I guess this means that they were convicted of a crime, but recieved either probation or community service. The authorities deny the claim.

Ghost! I sure forgive you. I love people and hate when someone in here tries to trash me.

It's just not in my nature to be cruel, but when someone trashes me, my claws come out. heh!

But I hope we can be friends when we run across each other on the threads!

And.......welcome to Free Republic again. You will find a lot of wonderful people here!!!!!

The bribery that goes on with these groups is mostly or should I say always done behind closed doors. How can you prove that the candidate who just won an election and "out of the goodness" of his heart makes a large donation to a specific church in a specific part of town is fraud - it could simply be charity...

Voter fraud, I have found out takes many guises. In the small town where I have been assigned to work at the polls, there are at least two church groups and the NAACP. They are scrupulous about staying the exact distance from the polling place, they are also very good at getting people to the polls and prior to there bringing them have coached them to ask for a certain person for help - a member of one of the organizations.

It is legal to ask for help if you can't read, are blind or need help understanding the ballot. The voter MUST be the one requesting help.

During the last senatorial race here in South Carolina, all of us at the polling place almost ended up in jail. What lead up to it was an over zealous woman from the NAACP, who instead of waiting to be asked to help, actually came into the polling place and TOLD a voter that she needed help to vote for the right person. She was overheard by a representative of the Election Board and a poll manager - she was evicted. Some of us believed that this was a setup by the NAACP to get the poll closed and us in jail. Only problem was that when the well dressed young black lawyer arrived from Columbia and was confronted with the actual story - he found that his hands were tied and there was not a thing they could do.

This polling place has ALWAYS and I emphasize ALWAYS been trouble. It is a predominantly a minority part of Dorchester County. We are finding now that people are starting to change to from Democrat to Republican thinking that this will help them win which isn't actually the case. I can't wait to see what happens in November -

The point I'm trying to get across is that it is extremely hard to prove fraud - you have to be very care of what you do and who you say it to. You heard the group give that advice to me last month when I first brought this up.

I did go tell an election board member what I had been told and that was all I could do at the time.

The polling place is in City Hall and the local police officer has his office next to the Mayor's. He help to escort the lady off of the premises. That is all we could do.

I worked as qa poll watcher in the 2002 Florida elections. One of the poll workers showed me that about 1/3 of the people on the voter rolls were dead. (I was at a development for those Jesse Jackson called holocaust survivors.) Voting dead people is a common abuse and we should want the rolls to be up to date. However, I will feel as if we are just nibbling round the edges of this problem until NYC changes its 100 year old machines that can easily be preset.

To me this just doesn't make any sense--having the senile and mentally ill vote. Lock someone up because they don't know what they are doing and then let them vote? But I know it goes on. In the hearings for reforms in Florida one guy made a point of saying that signatures of nursing home residents don't match those on file, so signatures shoud not be checked. IMHO people who can't write anymore have proably voted enough.

Republicans must be in those places, too. The real abuse in terms of votes stolen in Florida happened during the first machine recount, before people were organized and were still at election parties. Remember? The Palm Beach county election supervisor revised the total votes for Gore up 10,000 in one fell swoop.

One of the main functions of parties is to watch each other. In elections that means at every step in the process from the programming of the voting machines to the tabulating and reproting of the votes.

In some states, like Virginia for example, the absentee ballots must be received prior to election day and are counted First prior to the regular votes. Corin, correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what they told us when I worked the Ollie North campaign.

One of the main functions of parties is to watch each other. In elections that means at every step in the process from the programming of the voting machines to the tabulating and reproting of the votes.

That's what scares me. IN some inner city precincts, especially all African American neighborhoods and/or precincts dominated by union zealots, the poll watchers are BOTH DEMOCRATS.

How easy is it to do that?? VERY EASY. As a Republican, I could go out right now and re-register as a Democrat and apply to be poll captain (watcher) in my precinct.

When it's time to count the votes (whether voting machine or by paper ballot, it would be easy as pie to fudge the numbers toward any candidate I choose.

Again, I believe Republicans by their very nature hold the voting process to be sacred and would never screw with votes.

On the other hand, I know many Democrats who I sense feel the ends justifies the means due to the fact they think all Republicans are racist, millionaire slave-drivers who can't wait to force religion down everyone's throat.

I am not kidding. I know of one Democrat, a zealous union member of course, who punched out his Republican counterpart poll worker two elections ago because he worked himself into a lather of hate, convincing himself it was up to him to "stop the GOP machine" in my county from "taking over."

I have two colleagues at work who are convinced that the GOP pays off people to win elections, and therefore they constantly talk about doing anything they have to to level the playing field.

Call me biased, but bottom line, I believe the behavior currently on display with the Michael Mooron - Soros types is the type of behavior that would lead to Democratic corruption on election day.
