No chance. My money's on Edwards. If it is Hillary, then Kerry is even dumber than I think, and that's pretty dumb.
To: Happy2BMe
The "mystery candidate?" It's the Hildabeast. No doubt about it. There 's a 50% chance she gets the nod, a 40% chance Edwards gets it, and all the others make up the remaining 10% equally.

Uber Democrat Sen. Hillary Clinton is warning all-but-certain presidential nominee John Kerry to back off if he's thinking about replacing party chairman Terry McAuliffe before the election. Asked about rumblings that the Kerry camp wanted to toss McAuliffe over the side, Clinton told the New York Times on Friday, "Terry has helped the Democratic Party move into the 21st century to compete against the incredible interlocking institutional powers of the other side." "A lot of plans have been laid, a lot of infrastructure put in place, and I want to see us follow through," she insisted. Hillary Warns Kerry: Hands off McAuliffe

issus clinton says she doesn't think she will be asked to be John Kerry's running mate.... and doesn't think she would accept, in any case. "Think" seems to be the operative word.... (or is it "doesn't think?") Susan Estrich had it exactly right when she said missus clinton is unelectable. If hillary clinton wants to occupy the Oval Office, she must perforce either marry the president (been there, done that) or ascend to the throne; that is to say, missus clinton must zipper-hoist.... (We will leave means of ascension to your imagination and her devices. Suffice it to say, John Kerry would be wise to sharpen the ol' peripheral vision.) For her entire adult (such as it is) life, zipper-hoisting has been missus clinton's principal means of upward mobility.
Zipper-hoisting has proved to be a sticky wicket for missus clinton, owing not to antithetical feminist ideology, as one would expect -- feminists willingly sacrificed feminism on the altar of clintonism -- but to zipper choice, her rather injudicious attachment early on to a certain zipper habitually on the downslide. Look for missus clinton to switch zippers. And sooner rather than later. (Note: Kerry's zipper is the current default choice; missus clinton would have much preferred the General's.) What zippers are to missus clinton, heiresses are to John Kerry. As comptroller of the Democrat coffers, missus clinton is the de facto Democrat "heiress," (Teresa Heinz without the ketchup, if you will). Thus, what we have here is the perfect symbiosis, the perfect playing into proclivities, the lowest common denominator, the perfect pair.... |

Stop the nonsense, it is going to be Edwards. He needs the mom's in the heartland and South to swoon when he (Kerry) and the eye candy are on TV.

I don't believe Hillary will be on the ticket. The Kerry campaign is just floating this to try to get some excitement whipped up about his boring campaign. I still have my money on Edwards.

It aint Hillary. That's just a rumor to get folks to tune in ("tonight, on the most controversial episode of 'Survivor' ever...").
It'll be someone we never heard of, more wooden than Kerry so the #1 spot on the ticket will look slightly less boring. I predict it will be Bill Richardson, despite what he said a few days back. That was just smoke so he could pack his bags without the press snooping too close. Or else some wonderbread governor from some ag state.

If it is Hillary I predict she will use the position to make absolutely sure Skary Kerry does not get elected.
No way she wants the number two seat. For her to be veep would mean the same thing as if Kerry won with the only difference being that she would run against the incumbent veep if that person tried to succeed kerry in eight years.
Kerry would botch things in four years and get booted anyway and Hitlery does not want to run in that situation. Her only hope is to run against the successor to Bush in four more years.
If she takes the veep slot with Kerry, look for Kerry to implode in October with Hitlery as the shining star and victim - a role she is pretty experienced at playing.

Hillary has, in the past, risen to power because of the man she married. Kerry is just the opposite and, if he picks Hillary, he does so because he knows he needs her to win. Kerry is sort of an anti-man.
