Washington-AP -- Scratch Bill Richardson's name from the list of potential running mates for John Kerry.

The New Mexico Governor says he's told Kerry he no longer wants to be considered.

One of the country's top Hispanic Democrats, Richardson says he wants to keep a promise to the people of New Mexico to serve a full, four-year term.

He also notes that Kerry has "numerous experienced and talented leaders" from which to choose a vice presidential candidate.

Richardson delivered the news in a letter sent today to Kerry's campaign headquarters.
