The politicians in these damn sanctuary cities need to be sued personally when this stuff happens. From Newsday:

The contractor who hired Escobar provided police with his address.

Police arrested Escobar, who is believed to be an undocumented immigrant from Guatemala, at the home he and his girlfriend shared...

Lynn Gigante, 40, who lives across the street, said there are several families with young children also living there.

Records show Escobar was sentenced to six months in jail for driving while intoxicated in 2000 and is currently on probation. In 1999, he was convicted of attempted menacing, in which a three-year order of protection was issued. Later that year, he was sentenced to five months in jail for a forgery conviction.
