I think you may have nailed it here. Otherwise, I just can't imagine why they'd go to so much trouble. The detailed outlines for gaining acceptance here took some time and effort to research and prepare. I can't see a group doing that simply to cause a bit of mischief.

Actually there is a thread on the DUmpster(PJ-Comix posted extracts in one of his DUmmie Funnies)where the DUmmies were angry at being listed as an extremist website(deservedly so) somewhere on a site that listed such sites,and that Free Republic wasn't. I believe that some of them(DUmmies) are also behind some of the more ludicrously racist/extremist posts being made here lately,in their lame attempt to "show" that FR is "extremist" too. They can't understand why posts such as ones expressing a wish that our troops in Iraq would be killed,or that another terrorist attack would occur in the US (thereby taking the lives of innocent civilians,or in the words of one of their favorite liberal looney spokemen,"little Eichmans")would make DUmmies Underground be considered "extremist". It doesn't seem to occur to them that high-fiving and applauding such posts,rather than admonishing or pulling them,might just make them appear to be a bit "extremist".But then, they aren't called DUmmies-In-The-Sewer for nothing.

You know what I have noticed lately and it has my red flags up,,alot of anti gay posts. People acting like Christians inviting gay bashing.

What makes the Nazi types think that conservatives would support their agenda,when we support President Bush,voted for President Bush,who has appointed more QUALIFIED minorities to high-level positions than any administration in history? He did exactly what true conservatives believe in-judged the candidates on their MERITS and ABILITIES,and chose accordingly.Dr. Condoleeza Rice is eminently more qualified than Madeleine Half-bright EVER dreamed of being.

Sort of recalls Hannah Arendt's "Banality of Evil"...the creepy thing about the Nazis wasn't how weird they were (though a few were pretty odd, like Goebbels and Goering) but most of them actually were pretty boring and seemed "normal."

Like Himmler,who at any other time in history would have lived and died as an insignificant "Babbitt",but through the quirks of history became one of the catalysts of the genocide of millions of people.

What's interesting is that they think that FR is "packed" with their target audience despite the fact that they get routinely ridiculed and banned, and that folks maintain sizable Pro-Israel and Black Conservative ping lists.

There are quite a few Christian Bible-believing FR members,(sometimes called,usually pejoratively,"fundies")such as myself,who take seriously the verses in the Bible about the curses that will befall nations who turn against Israel.The founder of my beliefs,Jesus Christ,was a Jew.
