This is awesome. Can anyone possibly update this to include 2005 and 2006? I think it’s important that we remember thses things as the snakes hit the campaign trail. It’s not bad enough that Bush has been bashed by the Dems since Nov 2000 when he stole the election (gag me) but now some Republicans thinks it’s fashionable to do the same.

sickening

I love Bush and am proud I voted for him... idiots always second guess their decisions, that is why they are idiots.

One Big Giant Mistake like selling out the sovereignty of the United States makes all the rest a waste in the long run.

All of the other accomplishments will end up reversed. Such a shame.

Now, why didn’t he fight to make those tax cuts permanent while he had the chance?

You, the Mexican government and all the new social services drains in waiting.

Well, they do say that love is blind.

Idiots blindly follow without questioning the intentions of the person they follow. That FRiend is the path to hell.

The Germans thought Adolph Hitler was a great leader, and they followed him.

"20. Reduced H1B visas from a high of 195,000 per year to 66,000 per year."

Great list and the above #20 helped me a lot! Those 195,000 H1B visas (approx 1.2 million at any one time) being reduced to where they are supposed to be drove the salaries of software engineers back up from when the market was flooded with H1B visa workers. I have estimate that I have grossed in salary an additional $160,000.00 dollars because of that reduction.

I also refinanced my home from Clinton's 7.5% to Bush's 6.0% and now owe Chase Bank $80K less.

And by Bush reducing the federal income tax brackets across the board, I am keeping a good 4%-5% more of my salary.

Bush has basically gotten me off the hook, or has put into my pocket, over $200K. In return, I put that back into the US economy.

Very great point.

Also a perfect example of those that did question it, being silent until it was too late.

History teaches us valuable lessons that we need to remember.

Does the large sums of money poured into African AIDS relief qualify as an accomplishment?

One that should be on the list: It was an early foreign policy intiative by Bush that ended the Second Sudanese Civil War (the North-South War) which was one of the deadliest and longest wars of the 20th Century. In the process the Bush admin developed a close working relationship with Kenya, which hosted most of the negotiations. This relationship has paid off handsomely in the War On Terror, the Horn of Africa being an important theater.

Absolutely. IIRC it's been estimated that something like 2 or 3 MILLION lives have already been saved. (Actually I think I saw that figure a few years ago.) It's probably been one of the most successful aid initiatives in human history, especially because of it's direct benefits wrt to human productivity, a key factor in the economic growth (or lack thereof) in developing economies.

On a closely related issue Bush deserves major kudos for achieving greater success in foreign aid reform -- e.g tying aid to good governance, channeling much of it through more accountable private agencies or public/private partnerships, requiring higher standards of accountability and transparency, using it in ways that establish infrastructure for follow on private investment instead of huge government projects, etc -- than any preceding President.

It is a stupid point for juveniles and pseudo intellectuals that are to arrogant to understand the meaning of idiot.... Idiocy is not an excuse, it is a symptom of retardation, or worse, liberalism.

Ah. So now we have freepers comparing Bush to Hitler.

And to think, I used to joke that it was only a matter of time until freepers started calling Bush "the real terrorist". Now I think I might be too late if I set up the pool today.

This place gets more like DU everyday.
