This Anonymous guy gets around. Didn't he write "Primary Colors" a few years back?
To: areafiftyone
How come federal employees have the right to go to the press and air any dirty laundry they like wihtout consequences? Obviously, he's not anonymous because he fears for his job or his pension.
Being discreet is a part of my job description. I have to sign all sorts of confidentiality hoo-hah every year. If I were to tell tales out of school, I would be so fired. And probbly sued, as well.
How come our spooks aren't held to this kind of standard?

I'm thinking of the Monty Python skit "The Blackmail Show" which (among other jokes) included a Message to "Mrs. J.B.S. of Oak Street in Lemington Spa: Please send us 10,000 pounds or we will reveal the name of your Lover from Bolton! That's right! If you send us the money now, your husband William, your children Nigel, Terry and Susan need never know the name of your Lover from Bolton!"

And who is Michael Scheuer?? Didn't Bill Clinton recently cast the blame on the CIA for shooting down plans to get bin Laden?
And Michael Scheuer was the CIA's bin Laden guy from 1996-99.
How ... interesting.

Isn't the publisher of the phoenix married to the judge who got dis-barred. I think her name was Maria Lopez.

The CIA made him do it unanimously from what I understand. They didn't want people to think his position was endorsed by CIA. Same reason he was speaking with his faced blacked out.
To: OneTimeLurker
unanimously = Anonymously
To: areafiftyone
Uh, I know. It was supposed to be a joke. You know? A joke?

The CIA made him do it unanimously really? I thought it was a unilateral operation.

Pursuant to his confidentiality agreement with the CIA, he submitted his book for approval prior to publication. The CIA approved it and requested that he remain anonymous as the author.

Anonymous = Coward "A Phoenix investigation has discovered that Anonymous does not, in fact, want to be anonymous at all -- and that his anonymity is neither enforced nor voluntarily assumed out of fear for his safety, but rather compelled by an arcane set of classified regulations that are arguably being abused in an attempt to spare the CIA possible political inconvenience."
Thus we understand how the term "RTFA" came into being.
