This story reminds me of another one a year or so ago -- of the Über-litigious girl who gamed her NY school so as to be able to receive in-home tutoring and graduate valedictorian. She got everything she wanted, but alienated her entire hometown and graduating class.

Do you mean Blair Hornstine? She was from Jersey, not NYC. And the best part about her story was that she was caught plagiarizing some columns for her hometown paper, and Harvard rescinded her admission. I've never heard where she ended up attending college.

Was this the one who was "sick" so she couldn't attend regular school? She was getting tutored so could take all available AP classes while kids attending school could not? This is so great! LOL I never had heard!
