" I've often wondered about this myself. It's a particular weakness in some conservatives."

Yes. Before reading the following, know that it is my opinion that we must elect President Bush and a Republican Congress if our country is to stand any chance of existing with the current evils that are under way (several groups of jealous leaders in other countries who have devised grand societies in their minds, for one).

As for the weakness, I can think of two of the wealthier men in the world, offhand. One of those two men dumped two of his former wives and is now married to a woman who is approximately forty years younger than he is. He is conservative in every way but one. He is so romantic, that marriage holds little importance for him. Romanticism rationalizes betrayal and adultery. The man's mind is so reprobate, that he blames most all other men who give him his wealth (the rest of us) for making women, in general, miserable.

You see, that man is the most powerful media mogul in the USA. He most likely imagines himself to be the benificent caretaker of all women. And the other of the two men... Well, he is similar.

The high divorce and cohabitation rate also keeps the labor pool large. But a large labor pool does not make a truly sustainable economy. Men of ingenuity do. As we take this moment to see through the media brainwashing, we know that some men invent things.

That is why conservative economic policies must be upheld by very strong moral men instead of weak philanderers. No man is really good. But when we have a leader who tries to be good, there is hope. And that, my friends, is why we must re-elect President Bush, for one. He may be ignorant of some things, for who knows all? But he tries.

Then we must have the endurance to continue to educate all who are like him as to what has happened to the family until our last breath passes.

Thank you very much for your very understanding comment regarding contract policy and much, much more.

Hmmmm. I was deeply troubled by this article, lay down for a nap and had a nightmare. If conservatives pursue this course they will lose pretty much every woman I know-- certainly they'll lose myself and both of my daughters. One is of age, the other is six months away, and here I had almost convinced both of them that marriage isn't necessarily a nightmare and that it IS possible to marry a good man, have children, and stay married.

This law will take us back to the days when men ruled everything and women were held hostage by their love for their children. The only solution is for women, en masse, to refuse to marry, and I think that will be EXACTLY what happens. And, there will be a whole lot of babies who never know WHO their father is.
