Alright, I just saw on the Late Show with David Letterman a segment in which David interviews Joe Wilson about his book on his wife and the Niger situation.....what he called the "lies" that led to war.
I am so pissed I am considering boycotting the show.
First though, a Freep is in order.
David just basically let Wilson blab and blab without questioning anything he stated.
Several points need to be made in a Freep:
1) Wilson did not prove Bush lied about anything; why not have somebody on to defend Bush and counter Wilson's allegation?
2) Wilson was not secretive of his wife's CIA identity like he claims.
3) Even though Wilson claims to have found nothing fishy when he went to Niger, Britain stands by...much more firmly than the Americans ever were....that Saddam tried to buy uranium from Niger. Why assume Wilson could see the whole picture?
4) Wilson was one guy in a huge organization; there will be disagreement.
5) Will the Late Show become a Kerry campaign commercial or be a place for comedy? If entering the political arena, you have an obligation to present the other side or lose viewers.
You can send an e-mail to the show in two different ways (I did both to try to get maximum impact), their contact form and CBS mailbag form.
To get to these forms, go here:
http://www.cbs.com/latenight/lateshow/show_info/ls_show_info_pop_feedback.shtml
http://www.cbs.com/latenight/lateshow/show_info/ls_show_info_pop_mail_bag.shtml
****Main phone number to the show: 212-975-4734 ****
Executive Producer E-mail:
I could not find one executive producer per se; it appears there are several. Based on the format for station e-mail, PROBABLY these are the e-mail addy's for the exec produders. Of course, why not call the main number above and ask for each directly?
Rob Burnett: rburnett@cbs.com
Maria Pope: mpope@cbs.com
Jude Brennan: jbrennan@cbs.com
Barbara Gaines: bgaines@cbs.com
Here are talent coordinators for the show....they help find guests.
Try to phone them at the above number or e-mail them in the model format given above.
JULIE MONTGOMERY
ELIANA R. SALZHAUER
BRIAN TETA
you are wrong
He said that he thought WMD little remnants, what he called "garage" WMD operations, a "can here or there" would be found.
He did not say anything about uranium and Niger except to lie and say they didn't try to buy it.
Note......Maria Pope and Rob Burnett e-mails do not work.
I have not gotten an undeliverable on the others.
Those were just a guess e-mail format. You will have to call them directly at the main number.
The only personal e-mail listed on the website that is a sure thing is Eliana Salzhauer's. You will definitely get through to her.
The e-mail addy for Jude and Barbara Gaines is correct it appears.
I seem to recall Rob and Maria may have left to produce another show, though I can't remember for certain. That would explain their e-mails not working though.
You would think it would have at least gotten some play in the press...huh?

BTW, his old bio (they changed it several months ago) for the organization listed Valerie Plame's name too...
That was it until this year. I started watching Letterman again. Then CBS started with all the anti-Bush cr@p on 60
Minutes AND Letterman had some other twit on. No longer.
They can call me when Les Moonves and Sumner Redstone are gone and Letterman stops booking anti-Americans.
I will have to check it out. There is a Web museum or some website that has old copies of websites.
I do not know if it can give enough detail to list an old version of a specific page on a website, but it would be worth it. The fact that they removed the Plame name is telling.
This I do know: the week after Ronald Reagan passed away, not a word from Letterman, with the exception of one one-liner to open the show after the applause greeting his entrance on stage: "Did you all come here because you heard I was lying in state?"
I don't mind the gags about Bush's feeble speaking skills (don't pretend you don't notice). Letterman defends himself from charges of partisanship by saying "It's my job to make fun of [the President]," but the digs are often too angry to be humorous.
Right alongside Larry King, another pimp for liberals.
I've already switched to Leno. Letterman hasn't been funny in years.
Note:
The number on their website is not a phone number like it claims, but a fax.
I will have to call CBS later and try to get the real phone number.
The Late Show just doesn't want to get phone calls apparently. But I will make sure they do. :)
Ok, but I gotta say, Why in the world would anyone watch Letterman? He comes across to me as a simpleton, a dunce. His mannerisms (he has no manners) are full of foolishment.
When I see him, (I switch) but can't help to think he has strings attatched and somebody makes his jestures, makes him dance-- a puppet. Ditto for his speech.
Just trying to help out, ok? I think the place you want to check out is at
www.archive.org
Details are there. Look up the site by date you want to check on.
Thanks.
That is what I was looking for.
Well good, then, glad to help.
He lost me forever when he trotted Michael Moore out there and treated him as though he were a respectable American.
I emailed the show, using the contact form, and let them know I will never watch the show again, and why.
In the past I've always given Letterman a lot of lattitude because he's always done political jokes, and a lot of his stuff *is* funny, but the Michael Moore appearance was beyond the pale.
I included a few Michael Moore quotes, including the one in support of the terrorists running around Iraq, and told them that Al Qaeda loves Letterman for his support of Michael Moore.
I think Letterman has probably never heard Moore's disgusting quotes or the facts about Wilson. He probably gets the CBS news version of things and accepts them at face value.
Does Wilson have an answer to the Greenpeace complaints about yellowcake contaminating certain places in Iraq? Greenpeace has interesting info on the stuff.
And perhaps you aughta get with the facts, too -- and stop reacting to the "DemocRATS'" canard about Niger:
Fact One: [And the only one worth remembering]
President Bush has NEVER mentioned Niger.
Fact Two:
Even had he, most Americans' knowledge of African geography would have them beieve either that the "DemocRAT" pushing that line meant Nigeria but couldn't spell it or that the citizens of the independent republics of Niger and Ia, like those of the Czech Republic and Slovakia, could no longer stand one another and had split the former Nigeria into two parts
Fact Three:
If them Dems don't quit pushing Wilson's Niger BS both he and they are going to end up like that fellow who was fired not long ago for using the word "niggardly."
[Which, come to think of it is Right where he and they are gunna end up, no matter what else they do]
Fired.
