Pat Buchanan: The New Michael Moore?
By E & P Staff
Published: June 29, 2004
NEW YORK Is Patrick Buchanan the new Michael Moore? One might wonder, to judge by a letter from the conservative columnist that St. Martin's, the publisher of his upcoming book, is circulating to booksellers this week. Buchanan promises his book will show how, "A cabal of neoconservatives inside and outside the administration hijacked U.S. foreign policy, beat the drums for war in Iraq, and may have ignited a 'war of civilizations' with the Islamic world that could last a generation."
The book, "Where the Right Went Wrong," is being rushed to publication to come out just before the Republican National Convention in August, where Buchanan will serve as an MSNBC commentator. The New York Post recently quoted a publishing "insider" as saying, "They could put Michael Moore on the jacket of this book, and people would believe he wrote it."
Buchanan reportedly got half a million dollars for the book, which remains under wraps. It is not even summarized at Amazon.com, though an audio version is promised.

this will not help in ending the legacy of anti-semitic charges against PWB.

Only in spirit.
Seriously, I think that Moore would have to lose a little bit more poundage-and I'm not talkin' superfluous gallbladder weight here-to resemble Pat.

Pat just wants to be loved. He needs a hug and a dog. Maybe we should give him Ter-AY-za? She wants to be a dog.

There was a time when I respected Pat Buchanan. Those days are long gone and today I think comparing him to Michael Moore is a fitting comparison. PJB is an isolationist who is perpetually angry.
It was PJB who went to Ronald Reagan with his concerns about Japan buying up land here in the U.S. and buying up our Banks. Ronald Reagan listened to his rant and at the end Ronald Reagan said "Well!!!!! I guess they know a good investment when they see one"
Pat has declined into state of confusion that can only be described as "Disturbed". Pat shouldn't go away angry, he should just go away

... a 'war of civilizations' with the Islamic world that could last a generation."America has been under attack from the Islamic world for a generation. 9-11 was the last straw. The day US patience ran out. You're either with us, or against us.

judging from the editorials he has written over the last several months, I would say i am inclined to believe old Pat may have gone over the edge into barking-moonbat territory.

Perhaps.
If that's the case, then I'm sure that he'll be able to find plenty of orthodox priests who would be more than willing to help him with that particular problem.
What ever happened to that African dude who was married off by Rev. Moon, anyway?
Hmmm.
Deep Thoughts.

PJB just wants to something to bitch about, without the media attention, he is just another useless bitter old man.
If PJB lived in paradise, he would complain about the lack of chaos
