I would love to see the wording of this poll:
"Do you believe that the early transfer of government is a good decision, given the threat of violence and the U.S. military's inability to combat the heroic insurgency, or a bad decision that reflects the increasingly troubled occupation by the US authorities?"
I'm telling you, the negative spin on positive news is a sign that the media are beginning to fear that the war will ultimately be a success. Therefore, they are beginning several spins: (1) Recent successes are attributable to Bush adopting policies suggested by John Kerry; (2) Only after the bungling US withdrew did anything positive start to happen; (3) Any credit for success goes to the UN and to Iraq, not to Bush. And, of course, this will be coming from the same people who previously said that Iraqis were incapable of democracy.
