My position is that we should respect privacy.

Comment on Kerry's past: he has been planning along to run for President some day. So he should have played it very safe with his divorces.

Any proceeding which requires a court to intervene -- a criminal trial, a civil case, etc -- is essentially being brought before the public, in order to have it adjudicated. Therefore, the public not only needs to know what's happening (knowing what's happening in the court system is a big part of making sure that the courts are working properly -- I consider that a civic duty) but deserves to know. People shouldn't be able to hide their dirty laundry from the public view -- while simultaneously asking the courts for adjudication. My two cents.
