The Atkins diet may help a woman with PCOS become pregnant. PCOS is a condition where a woman's ovaries produce testosterone in the presence of elevated blood sugar (it's a bit more complicated, but that's the gist of it) and can render a woman infertile. Reduced carb diets (not necessarily Atkins) can help the condition quite a bit.

That is correct. I know of quite a few women who had spent thousands and thousands of dollars for fertility treatment fail time and time again but got pregnant after going on a low carb diet for only a few months. They all had PCOS.

YOU ARE CORRECT! My dr put me on a NO carb diet for two weeks, then limited me to less than 60 grams for 2 months. After that I was put on a diet limited to 60-100g of carbs a day for life. Within 2 weeks, most of my PCOS symptoms went away. By month three, everything was better than when I was a teen. I've helped two other women get preggers by giving them the same advice. (Their husbands did the rest...) ;-)

And if that isn't enough to straighten a lady out, Metformin does the rest.
