You are clueless. Socialism is about the elite deciding what is best for you, such as does Microsoft. Come back after you have read some George Gilder...

If Microsoft is so much for freedom, then please tell me why Microsoft, and Apple, are doing Hollywood's bidding?

You can shoot me if you want, I won't feel it. Heard it today and many of you penguin fans will recognize the import of this statement. Daimler is going Linux.

Who wants to pay for anything if they can get it for free legally?

Works for Vietnam, why not for us?

If you could get your next car for free, would you turn that down?

If I had to move to North Korea for my KIA, then YES!

The Dims, along with millions of others, found that you can get quality software that works without having to pay licenses. Good for them.

Good for them? That they're tricking Americans into socialist ideals?

I don't think this is a socialist plot.

Don't get out much?

Not one of those is the official website of a political party pushing new laws mandating open source. Nor do they have a candidate with a good chance of winning the next US Presidency.

Please tell me that you forgot the < /sarcasm> tag.

I have decided that absolutely every single person on the internet is -- without fail -- totally, merrily insane.

Buncha goddam worldwide socialists!

Especially that Reagan Library bunch, promoting commie ideals...

And don't get me started on those Stalinist dupes at the Goldwater Institute.

There is no such thing as open source.

Every time something comes along described as open source an organization copyrights or patents it and starts charging everyone money.

By the way, that's the American way. If you produce something, you are entitled to benefit from it.

All of the hippies that want everything to be free change their mind the first time their time and effort produces something of value.

I guess those using Yellow Dog Linux are just a bunch of commie fags....part of a conspiracy of commie preverts, no doubt.

Crap, I've been outed. I used to manage a couple of Yellow Dog machines at my last job, and ran it at home for a while on our old 7600. I've also run Linux on Sparc and RS6000, too. Does this make me third-way Dem bisexual or something? In other news, the wife unit tells me I am not to approach her G5 with Linux CDs until told otherwise. ;)

Not very substantive answers.

Don't get out much?

We've been through that. I don't know what their motivations are, but the end result is one I like: saving taxpayers money and ending the effective subsidies that you like.

Daimler is going Linux.

Daimler started going Linux long ago. They ditched their SCO nixes years ago, and SCO went after them because they were switching to Linux.
