Of course there is a way to retain the hiring freeze and even roll back government employment. That is to require each government employee to work 12 hours a day. I don't know anyone in the private sector who does not work 12 hours, so why should the gov't employees get special treatment?

you could eliminate the DMV next month...
do all business of DMV on the internet and "test" people for driver's licenses through the driving schools for a fee...hmmmmmmm
