Thanks for posting this.
A great story, and there are probably more happening right now. The early take over is a brillent move by the alied forces and with the stakes so hight, we pray freedom will take hold throughout the broader middle east and things settle down.
That was very courageous on his part. I don't know if I would help out if there was an army of crazies running around my neighborhood with AK-47's and RPG's. The leftist media portrays that in Iraq, almost anyone would turn you over to the insurgents for a pack of smokes. This helps to confirm my view that most Iraqi's want peace, but after decades of tyrannical rule, you don't just snap your fingers and have instant law and order.
This ping list is not author-specific for articles I'd like to share. Some for perfect moral clarity, some for provocative thoughts; or simply interesting articles I'd hate to miss myself. (I don't have to agree with the author 100% to feel the need to share an article.) I will try not to abuse the ping list and not to annoy you too much, but on some days there is more of good stuff that is worthy attention. I keep separate PING lists for my favorite authors Victor Davis Hanson, Lee Harris, David Warren, Orson Scott Card. You are welcome in or out, just freepmail me (and note which PING list you are talking about).
Sounds like Sfeir's writings might be worth checking into. This is the first I've heard of him.
I guess this sort of post doesn't get as much attention as those where calumny is entertained and everyone's bigotry and hatred is mutually reinforced. Seems that the leftists as well as the UberPatriot TrueKonservatives are aching for President Bush's war on terror to fail, and anything which points to its success or to the humanity and charity of Muslims just gets conveniently ignored.

Beautiful, and in a mainstream source.
Thanks for the post and the pings!
Hold onto your hats! It's a good-news-from-Iraq-ping!
I have personally met men who have risked their lives daily to help the US/Coalition effort. One of these, a Kurd who lost many male family members to Saddam's tyrannies, drove a different vehicle daily, changing routes frequently because he knew of the threats against him. His entourage was armed; he personally carried a Browning 9mm pistol that he checked at the gate when he went on base.
Maybe this is true....... maybe not. The only English word he knew was "relax"? Give me a break!
An incredible story from Iraq Bump!
