I just started reading transcripts of the pretrial hearing.
It cleared up two things. The grand jury was used to get Scott's purchases on credit cards, bank records..The FBI agent helped with that for the GJ.
.The surveillance camera was used when they wanted to watch Scott's leaving and follow him..They did not want to park on his street..so they could use the camera to watch in the car on a screen where they could not be observed by Scott and he wouldn't be tipped off they were going to follow him. They would call and tip off other police who could follow when he left ,etc....
(So much for the drug connection?). This would explain why the house break in wasn't filmed...The camera didn't run unless they were ready to follow him when he left and he wasn't even home that night.
Even though I haven't seen it explained lately, the DEA set the camera up as they had the equipment.
The prelim was spent questioning the police honesty/ ethics, lack of tip followup/sloppiness, and the rush to judgement/vendetta against Poor Scott.
Probable cause found and here we are.
Thanks Meg...and I keep saying if there WAS any exculpatory evidence...we wouldn't be here either.
