Can't rely on any news source anymore. Still have to wait 6 hours for a story to pan out.

Phooey.

It's possible we have him and the military is denying it so they can round up some other people in the process, or carry out some other kind of operation. Who knows.

It would be better if he were being held by an "unknown" splinter group of coalition supporters who would dress him up in an orange jump suit, tie his hands and feet with rope, and threaten to cut his head off with a dull knife if Osuma Bin Laden is not handed over in the next 24 hours. Off course the captors could cover their faces and video tape the event to show how bold the big bad terrorist is when he realizes it's his time to go.

Nuts. I nearly went to bed just a second ago, but then, I thought: "Just one refresh. Just ONE hit..."
FreeRepublic is like political crack. You can't freep just one...
To: A_Niceguy_in_CA
Well, it would be a lot easier to just find him dead later in a pile of rubble, rather than to put him on trial and all that.( wink, wink, nudge)

From Reuters:
U.S. Military Checking Reports of Zarqawi Capture
Mon Jun 28, 2004 05:20 AM ET
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The U.S. military said on Monday it was checking unconfirmed reports that al Qaeda ally Abu Musab al-Zarqawi had been captured in Iraq.
The Jordanian-born Zarqawi, who Washington says is its number one enemy in Iraq, is accused of masterminding a string of suicide bombings and of the execution of an American and a South Korean hostage.
The reports suggested that Zarqawi had been captured near the town of Hilla, south of Baghdad and in the Polish military area of responsibility.
"We are working on that issue," a U.S. military official said.
A Polish spokesman added: "I cannot confirm that information... When the operation is ongoing at the moment I cannot make any comment."

Our marvelous effort has reached the forward-breakover point when Democracy for Iraq has reached the "on" state. The resistance efforts by the Islamo-terrorists has failed miserably. The world is growing more against them as they increase their barbaric behavior. The more over the top behavior on their part will further consolidate the opposition against them.
The be-headings is not only barbaric, it is a tactic that is their greatest error. It is a window that shows the world who they really are: a group of stupid automatons who can never be allowed the rule over people. These people belong in the Stone Age; not the age of cell phones and Dish TV. The world has moved light years beyond them as if they were stuck in some time-warp that has kept them frozen in a world of centuries past. They are proving that Darwin's thinking about a more primitive man overcome and driven to extinction by a more advanced human as true. The only thing they will win is the Darwin Award, like the auto thief who tried to shoot back at the police but instead, shot himself in the head.
