I think the world media will rally and insist that he be treated according to the Geneva Convention. The Al-Quaida will become signators to the convention so that it has validity in this matter. [/sarcasm]
God bless this man and our troops. I hope we can save him.
"this Marine had deserted his unit earlier.... "
Damage control ?
Yes, nearly impossible, but not impossible. Actually, not yet feasible. It will become feasible when the enemy redefines itself as Islam at large, not merely Islamic extremism (as it is in the process of doing). The fact is that an enormous number of Islamic "moderates" (likely a majority)identify closely with the terrorists.
Ditto.
I look forward to future posts from you my friend! : )
Regards,
I'm all for invasive. If this had been done we wouldn't have to worry bout POW's we could find them and the evil ones who captured them.
Regarding "invasive" implants for military, I agree with you. Fretting over that is part of same mindset that objects to Patriot Act. If we don't do anything differently than peacetime what kind of a way is that to run a war?
Well the marines are one of our best fighting units.
A certain behavior and courage is expected from them.
An easy marine kidnapping would show the terrorists that we are weak, boost their morale, and encourage them to kidnap other marines.
This guy should have known what happens to kidnap victims.
Even if they had a loaded gun pointed at him, he should have put up a fight to make them shoot at him. the sound of gunfire would have alerted other marines to the scene and the terror group would have been annihilated.
That would have served as an example to the terrorists and they would have never tried to arrest another marine again.
Now they'd only be encouraged to kidnap other marines.
