When the President made the case the liberals responded with their case:

30,000 dead Americans
World World IV as war would break out in Egypt, Syria, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Iran, Pakistan, Afgahnistan, India, etc. The end of the planet!
Collapse of the US economy.

We heard them clearly and still voted yes to the war. We heard their predictions 10 times for every time the President spoke.

Liberals were lying then and they are lying now.

800 dead. Sorry, grow some and realize that Iraq has been a stunning success. Well planned, executed, and as truthful as humanly possible.

And we get the added bonus of knowing without a doubt that the US press is a corrupt, evil (and incompetent) group of the lowest slime on the planet. And, the UN cannot fulfill its mission.

No matter how Moore shades or slants it, we humbled the world with shock and awe. The majority of the US casualties are due to the fact that we have been decent to the innocent people of Iraq. Many wanted to level the place and start again. The whiny cowards of France and Germany who were bleeding the people dry in Iraq know that we own them any time we want them.

Of course, as they are liberal, they couldn't possibly understand that a God fearing Nation like the US wouldn't even consider doing to them what they did to each other for hundreds of years. They live now because of our good graces and it galls them that their moral strength is on par with their military, that is to say non-existent.

They saw it like we did on CNN and Fox News. The slightest slap from our collective might and the 6th largest army in the world evaporated. The scheming press quickly pointed out that shock and awe didn't work and we were in a quagmire until it completly worked and it was done. What chance would France or Germany have against us. None.

We stopped on the highway of death during the first gulf war because our leaders could see no reason to kill 300,000 Iraqi soldiers who if the case was reversed would slaughter us to the man. We aren't like them. We know the value of life because that's what happens when you have liberty.

And what do we do with this unstoppable might? What do we do with the ability to shape the world like the Zeus and Neptune. We remove tyrants and free innocent people. Then we go home and figure out a way to feed them all.

I would be crying too if I was from France and Germany (just before putting the gun in my mouth).

Movie critics seem to be habitually out of touch with reality. . .I'm reminded of the time Mystery Science Theater ran down a list of Leonard Maltin's 2 1/2 star movie ratings:

According to The 1998 Leonard Maltin Movie and Video Guide

K09- Phase 4

101- The Crawling Eye

201- Rocket Ship X-M

213- Godzilla Vs The Sea Monster

309- The Amazing Colossal Man

311- It Conquered the World

407- The Killer Shrews

411- The Magic Sword

502- Hercules

510- The Painted Hills

513- Mitchell

601- Girls Town

706- Laserblast (of course)

812: The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies

"Why would you think there are inaccuracies? You weren't for this war anyway.

Duh. Actually, I cherish inaccuracies. They're almost always the best indicators of someone's bias or slanted agenda.

Beginning with the central premise that you can only tell when a politician (or TV talking-head spin doctor, for that matter) is lying is when he or she's lips are moving, I try to see through the B.S. from all sides, regardless of ideology. That's the whole point of being an avid news reader and follower of current events, in the first place.

Facts are facts. You can't build an argument without them. And facts that aren't made available to the public, for whatever reason, can be just as revealing as outright distortions and deceptions; facts that don't hold up. Unfortunately, the only proof of what's going to 'hold up' is time. So it's best not to go jumping to final conclusions until all the evidence is in.

Whether or not I am now, or may have been in the past to some degree, skeptical of some of the reasons we went to war in Iraq is beside the point. The whole story hasn't been written, yet.

I think the basic goal remains defeating the 9/11 terrorists, and all the other towelheads in the beheading atrocities. Has the Iraq war actually helped us in accomplishing that goal, or has it been much more of a mixed bag, results-wise? Hamid Karzai is still just the major of Kabul. The borderland of Pakistan has been transformed into the new Taliban state. Idiots are still wiring themselves up with suicide jackets, in ever increasing numbers, over a far greater area.

Pardon my cynicsm, but I really do prefer to avoid knee-jerk conclusions, or marching orders. So despite my personal revulsion for his fat and hairy face, and his more asinine and transparent attempts at self-promotion, I am going to see the Michael Moore movie. Without your permission, or approval, ever-vigilant Commissar of thought control and ideological rectitude.

And that makes me less happy that I have to share conservative opinions, on what I'm sure are a whole host of other topics, with you.

Editor and Publisher has a goal this year: to out Bush, and they have admitted it. They do not hide their bias. Trust me. They have issued marching orders.
