Sad story and thread. Unfortunately this is the state of America today. I'm pessimistic for the nations' future because for the majority of our countrymen feeling good in the moment trumps reason. Facing facts, evaluating behavior related to those facts and assessing the consequences of that behavior is considered far too judgmental. Judgmentalism is of course bad. This is Clinton's America and he was indeed representative of the people.

Trumps everything. I suspect that if I had not posted this on a Sunday morning, when many of the Christians are at church, the response on this thread might have been a bit differently skewed. But I'll bet the sentimentalists would still have won out.

I notice too how many posters commented on this young man being "innocent" in the sense that he didn't get AIDS through sexual misconduct. But I think the story is really in the AJC today because of the Gay Pride festival also going on in Atlanta this weekend. The point of Pride, of course, is that sexual fulfillment is what human life is about--really, all that human life is about. It's the same point this story makes. The gay-pridesters will eat it up.
