"
We're all very proud of them. We're very thankful for the job that they do and the service they're doing for the country and the world, and for the cause of freedom. I just want to tell them to stay very strong and healthy, and we pray for you every day. Just know that you are in our thoughts, and we think about you a lot." ~ Gloria Estefan![]()
I've always liked her.
That is so very true, going back to before WWI. Many are immigrants. There is a proposal before Congress now to make it easier for veterans of the Iraqi and Afghanistan wars to apply for citizenship.
I enjoy her and her music. She can be very articulate. I remember her on "Politically Incorrect" one time. She wasn't making many comments--I got the impression she didn't like the juviline tome of the show. At the end though, Mahler made some off the cuff comment about Cuba. Very patiently and calmly she began to point out the error of the comment and some facts about Cuba. Mahler was actually listening and seemed to be absorbing some of it.
A beautiful and talented lady and one class act.
A real class act!! Thanks for the uplifter RC!
Ragtime Cowgirl,That's nice she did that.
Thank you, Gloria!!!
GLORIA....ALLELUIA..thanks... :-)
Gloria seems to have retained her popularity since growing out of the teenie-bopper stage, unlike Madonna and the rapidly declining Brittney. What's the difference? Could it be real talent verses a reliance on cleavage and soft-stage-porn?
If any of you folks have a decent DVD surround sound system, you got to buy her DVD "Gloria Estefan Live and Unwrapped" Turn the lights off and crank up the volume!!!
My only regret is that she faded away from the Miami Sound Machine type of music and evolved into more sedate love songs. I ain't much of a music critic so thats the only way I can describe it......... I still love her tho!
You mean Mahler was absorbed in someting besides himself, for once,
What a wonderful tribute!!!! Gloria, here's to YOU and to FREEDOM!!!!
What a wonderful tribute!!!! Gloria, here's to YOU and to FREEDOM!!!!
Salsa bump.
WOW! She's still singing? GE is really classy.
That's what amazed me, too. I could hardly believe that he would bow to her knowledge of Cuba. Of course, it happened at the end and during closing credits.
It's all about the class ... and talent. Yes, I'm a fan and have seen her in concert. She sounds as good live as she does recorded. She and everyone around her work as one.
I wish I could have been there ....
Thanks again for these reports. I have been using these and others to help out A. M. Siriano with his new website, called "Good News" (http://www.amgoodnews.com). I hope you'll check it out, it's a good way to start the day.
