Angry White House pulls RTE interview

THE White House has lodged a complaint with the Irish Embassy in Washington over RTE journalist Carole Coleman's interview with US President George Bush.
And it is believed the President's staff have now withdrawn from an exclusive interview which was to have been given to RTE this morning by First Lady Laura Bush.
It is understood that both RTE and the Department of Foreign Affairs were aware of the exclusive arrangement, scheduled for 11am today. However, when RTE put Ms Coleman's name forward as interviewer, they were told Mrs Bush would no longer be available.
The Irish Independent learned last night that the White House told Ms Coleman that she interrupted the president unnecessarily and was disrespectful.
She also received a call from the White House in which she was admonished for her tone.
And it emerged last night that presidential staff suggested to Ms Coleman as she went into the interview that she ask him a question on the outfit that Taoiseach Bertie Ahern wore to the G8 summit.

Amazing what one man (Cheney) can do.
He seems to have bucked up the White House staff.
They'll probably be less inclined to put up with the disrespectful crap the left has been dishing out.

LOL - DUers are e-mailing the Interviewer with e-mails of support. If it was Clinton or Kerry getting the same treatment they would be calling the reporter a right wing nut!

Ireland has more in common with us than they do our enemies, if we don't unite and put the past behind, there will be no future for our clans.

Can someone decipher this sentence for me? I can't make heads or tails of it.

I think the Bush administration is laying down the gauntlet regarding the media. Let's see if Lady Norah O'Donnell and Lord David Gregory will get the hint.

There is a photo floating around of Bush at a window....in his underwear(Waist up.....and you see him in a T-Shirt).....they have been told by the Irish government that they better not run with it.

I haven't seen any of the interview, but I heard about it, and I would have had a problem with it even if they had done Bill Clinton thataway. Yeah, Clinton is an S.O.B., but he's our sumbitch. The Euros may think Bush is an S.O.B., but he's still our S.O.B. I don't take kindly to some foreign reporterette showing her ass to the President of the United States, no matter who he happens to be.

I recently received an 8x10 glossy of the President in his flight suit. I don't think I could handle clicking a link to one of him in his underware. ;-)
I suspect President Bush is laughing about this - he's photographed in a tee-shirt all the time when jogging.
