"Hollywierd has also done a flip-flop since WWII. At that time they made inspirational movies, driving public opinion to support the war effort."

There is one producer who is withholding the release of a war movie that portrays Americans soldiers in a favorable light until after the election, for fear it might help elect Bush.

When the US War Department was renamed the US Department of Defense, the Newspeak took over. Newspeak is visual as well. Think of all the clever names of simple fact that are sugarred up for us every day. I'm glad this is getting some attention.

After all, they used to drag the vehicle wrecks from teen drunk driving deaths into my high school parking lot to shape our actions to a reality based decision process. Why is this any different? I get to see rotted black lungs from smokers, little red wagons of fat, my brain wave patterns when pot smoking takes hold, and so on.....Why are our real enemies immune from curtain lifting?

Its not leftist that are the target audience.
Its republicans and conservatives that should know better.
NON leftists who just want to take the easy thought process and have become complaisant.

A complaisant attitude is as big a danger as terrorists.
9-11 was proof of that.

I don't need to see the act to know that cutting off someone's head is wrong. I don't need to have this fact reinforced. I doubt many people do.

Ah, but do many people understand it's wrong? Most don't bother with the news and the others don't realize these are real people - Oh, it's just some guy who's over there where he didn't belong in the first place and besides it's all Bush's fault that all our troops are being killed. They're immune to it and only feign outrage because someone at the water cooler was outraged. Most don't remember the WTC was bombed before, nor do they remember any of the other attacks against us. If the truth be known, they've all but forgotten the horror of 9/11 and have been indoctrinated to believe Bush knew about it and let it happen. Jo and Joanna American have very short memories and should be reminded again, and again, and again and be shown the truth.

In your opinion, Neal is wrong. Well, in my opinion, you are wrong. Even if the showing does not change one single Liberal Democrat, it may get those of our ilk off their dead butts and get them working for our President, get them out to VOTE. Anger just may do the trick, and I ,for one, am angry. IMHO

Show it. Show it all. The planes, the fires, the bodies hurtling through air, the aftermath of impact of human bodies on concrete. The armed thugs behind the bound hostage. The knives and the grappling hostage being sliced apart. The agonized screams and the blood spurting everywhere while the terrorists gleefully raise the severed head for all to see. They play to the Muslim audience, but believe the Western masses will cower in fear.

Show every second of everything they've done. Show it all so that people will know that their fate is reflected in what has occured. Show it all so that people will be sickened and show it because it reflects the true nature of the enemy beasts.

Show it because it is the truth. That's why we're here, isn't it? To expose the truth?

...Of all pieces of advice that people have lavished on me--oh, discreetly, courteously, almost without seemingly to do so--I have retained only one, and it's advice that I never follow: "Be prudent!" It would seem that because of present circumstances, as they say, I should be prudent. According to my way of thinking, however, the best way to learn to be prudent is to realize just how imprudent one can be... Prudence is the virtue of happy days, of prosperous periods. When you find yourself well sheltered, why the devil go outdoors to look for trouble? But when trouble is looking for you, it's primarily a question of facing it, since it would be still more dangerous to turn your back on it. In that case, prudence is only the alibi of the cowardly. --"The Last Essays of Georges Bernanos"

IMO over the last several decades, we have suffered severe corsening of the U.S. culture, our major media players being the culprits. I know you folks think seeing extreme violence will win hearts and souls. IMO, it won't. Oh it may in the short term, but soon one beheading becomes 250, one major terrorist act blends in with hudreds of others. After a few years of this, the impact of those acts is lost. What you wind up with is an extreme corsening of our culture, on a level far too extreme.

The complacent you will always have with you. You and others on this forum are hard wired to not be complacent. Others are wired to be complacent. Corsening our culture isn't going to acheive the bliss you think it will.

Thanks for the comments. Wish I could agree that the showing of every aspect of these events would change minds. If seeing two buildings crumble knowing thousands were still inside doesn't shake the complacent out of their stupor, nothing is going to.

I have to go out, so I won't be able to exchange more comments with you. Have a great day folks.

Show me the senselessness of their killings. Show me the evil behind their killings. Show me it. Show me all of it. And don't sanitize it. Don't blur it, mask it, color it or frame it. Don't gloss over it and try to make us not see it or be appalled by it. You see, I want us appalled. I want us angry. I want us outraged. I want us sickened.

Yes, show us all of it. The dead Americans and the dead Iraqis, the beheadings and the dismembered. Let Americans see that war is no video game but an inhuman horror.

Let them see what this foolish president got us into for nothing.

Very good point. If we can show body parts and corpses of those 'killed by smoking,' it seems silly not to show them when they have REALLY been killed...unless, of course, there's some agenda behind it. But that couldn't be it. The media is fair, right?

You may say it is for nothing, 3000 dead is not "nothing" and if you want to play the game that the Iraq war has no connection to terror. go ahead.
It has been proved that there were terrorists in Iraq prior to 9/11 and after. no they may not have had any hand in 9/11, but what else might they have been planning. I think it is quite arrogant of you to judge that Bush got us into this war for nothing. I think that the Iraqi people would disagree with you. at least 300,000 that can be accounted for Murdered by Saddam's regime. at least 12 sarin gas shells found (wow WMDS! who would have thought.)

The concept that has to be understood and Mr. Cavuto I believe is trying to get across is this is not a war of convince, for oil, or for dominance. It is a war to protect civilization. If these terrorist were left alone and America left the middle east. I would be only a matter of a few years before the Madras started pumping out armys to attack the US on our soil. These people want us dead because we live freely and as we choose not under a religious theocracy. If you still think the war was for nothing I feel sorry for you that you see life in that narrow of a scope.

For almost 60 years we have been shown the horrible pictures of the NAZI death camps. Are they somehow LESS horrible that the sight of a man being beheaded by a terrorist assasin? Show 'em every day..until the Bast..ds who were responsible are removed from the face of this earth. And then show 'em some more so that the wusses in the liberal establishment are reminded of what they were supporting!

I agree. We should also see every dead soldier, every body bag, every flag draped casket, every grieving mother, every civilian casualty. We should also get all of the good news to including objective reporting on the positive outcomes of the war effort. All of our decision should be made in full knowledge of the reasons for, and the consequences of, our choices.
