Insurgents Attack Shiite Office in Iraq

BAQOUBA, Iraq — Insurgents attacked two political party offices and a government building Saturday, killing three people and wounding two, the latest in an upsurge in violence just days before Iraq's interim government takes power.

Also Saturday, a car bombing wounded a Kurdish government official and killed one of his bodyguards in the northern city of Irbil (search), according to police and a spokesman for the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (search).

Witnesses identified the wounded official as Mahmoud Mohammed, the Kurdistan Democratic Party's minister of culture. At least five of Mohammed's bodyguards were also wounded in the blast.

Since these "insurgents" are going after the Iraqi's directly why don't the Iraqi people rise up and open up a can of whoop-ass on them?

I can understand they are frighten, but there has to come a point where you say no more of this...I hope they are ready because it's probably coming after THEM 10 fold once the coalition hands over power.

At work this week I heard on the radio news a report that a bomb went off outside of hotel where the Prez was going to be staying in Turkey. I thought why now? Maybe just to scare the Prez, anyways I said, "Not only have they got to deal with terrorist, they have to deal with idiot terrorist because the Prez wasn't even in Turkey yet."

My boss turned to me and said, "Be careful you might OFFEND someone." I looked at her and said, "If that offends anyone then too bad and they and you can go pound sand. (This part was said privately to my boss and I might have dropped a F-bomb or two, I can't recall!) I was sorely PO'ed and expected to get fired, but after my boss thought about it, she realized what she had actually conveyed. Now this is a public place and everyone heard this same report so those that were listening knew what I was talking about and most were walking out with smiles on their faces, but if there were any terrorist sympathizers in the lobby I really hope I offended them miserably!!

You've got thirty years of victimization to overcome. Most folks with any courage probably didn't last long under Saddamn's rule. Look how long the US put up with English rule before we decided we had a belly full.
