June 26, 2004 -- WASHINGTON Vice President Dick Cheney yesterday said he has no regrets about using the F-word to Democratic Sen. Pat Leahy and in fact "felt better after I had done it." "Instead of having a substantive debate over important policy issues, [Leahy] had challenged my integrity, and I didn't like that," Cheney said in an exclusive interview with Fox News Channel's "Your World with Neil Cavuto."

I would imagine that Vice President Cheney isn't the only one that has told Sen. Pat Leahy to bugger off! I would most any day of the week........
NO one should be in public office using this kind of vulgarity. I say that Cheney should go. We have to draw the line somewhere.
He's absolutely right in how he's responded. Leahy launched a smear, then expected to be treated cordially. Cheney put him in his place.
I don't think he should go for something so trivial. It was a bit of poor judgement though, and ends up giving the DU monkeys ammunition.
"NO one should be in public office using this kind of vulgarity. I say that Cheney should go. We have to draw the line somewhere."
Yeah, that will teach them.
Force cheney to resign over an apparently well-deserved dressing down, while democrats kept a known adulterer who used the oval office as a no-tell motel. We're much worse for having a guy in office who dropped an F-bomb.
Sure, let's run one out ours out of town for every time a democrat's feelings get hurt, while democrats stay around for everything short of starting the next holocaust.
Sheesh.

If I were in his shoes, I'd a cussed leaky leahy out too!!!!
Welcome to FRee Republic!!!!
I say Cheney just did draw the line--at last! This to me looks like the first shot across the bow. No more Mister Nice Guy Republicans. For too long now, they have been the grown ups in Congress, always extending the olive branch, behaving like gentlemen while the Dems act like demon-possessed brats. Frankly, I would love to see less civility, if it finally means the Republicans will stand up and start acting like the majority party.
I am wondering what is worse, to use a filthy word in the Senate? Or to subject the American people to a constant barrage of filth coming from the Oval Office as in the Clinton Presidency, which introduced to millions of American schoolchildren topics and words which they had no need to learn? Should I give some examples?
Where was the outrage when clinton did that?
Let's start with politicians who use their power to publicly go on the attack, with their opinions being published as gospel, rather than the private conversation of one man to another.
News is how the Clintons managed to stay out of prison.
The funny thing is that probably a full 40% of the nation has no idea who Cheney is. What about those who DO know? Well, THEY know Leahy deserved it.
The line that prevents them from calling anyone who disapproves of the UN, homosexuals, gun-grabbers, corrupt politicians, the President purging the Federal District Attorneys, renting out the Office of the President, selling pardons, any of these, a Nazi?
It is past time to start calling a spade an 'effing shovel. Do you suppose it might dawn on some of these people if you walked up, spit in their faces and called them a "LIAR!"? I personally have no problem in giving a terrorist AND his supporters, a short drop and a sharp stop, in front of the local courthouse, and putting it on C-SPAN.
Fat Teddy, Hilldabeast, Chucky the Weasel, Babs Boxer and Wafflin' John are WAY up on my list before Cheney as wastes of protein who should be on the next bus outta town.
ROFLOL!
You are so right! lol!
Let's hope Cheney is setting a precedent for our whole party. The nice-guy crap should have gone out the window long ago. His refusal to apologize is among the most heartening events of the past year. FReep on, Dick!
I agree with you 100%! Get rid of the nice guy routine and fight back.
