Yeah. He's got a website on which he claims that the Odyssey originated in what is now NW Scotland (islands and mainland) and somehow made it into later Greek literature. I'm more inclined to believe Samuel Butler's claim that the Odyssey was written by a woman living in (or was it near?) Sicily.
Unless... could it be... it so happens that there is another Edo Nyland, and the "Odyssey" Edo Nyland makes a point of mentioning that he's not that other Edo Nyland. And each of them has a cousin named Edo Nyland. And there's the Island of Edon. Plus Boz Scaggs recorded that tune years ago, "Edo"... George W. Bush will be reelected by a margin of at least ten per cent
