ROSWELL, NM - Today, Bush-Cheney '04 National Veterans Steering Committee Member Joe Repya, New Mexico Senator Rod Adair, Sergeant Deborah Foley, USMC (Ret.), and Veteran Mike D'Arco joined local veterans to announce the New Mexico "Veterans for Bush" Leadership Team. Repya served in Vietnam and Desert Shield/Storm and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after 28 years of active duty.

"Senator Kerry abandoned the troops in the field by voting against supplies and pay raises," stated Repya. "The Massachusetts Senator is wrong when it comes to Iraq and when voting against funding our troops. John Kerry has not demonstrated the consistency or leadership skills to serve as Commander-in-Chief."

"Senator Kerry seems to have made every decision possible to strip our military of winning weapon systems and the proper funding," stated Adair. "It's ironic to think that Senator Kerry took the President's position on disarming Saddam Hussein a little over a year ago. Everything he has uttered since then has presented us with changing views based on differing political climates."

D'Arco, who will serve as the Chair of the Bush-Cheney '04 New Mexico Veterans Leadership Team concluded, "New Mexico needs a leader who can stand firm with strength and resolve, and that leader is President Bush."

The Bush-Cheney '04 New Mexico Veterans Leadership Team joins a list of statewide coalitions that will help build a network of grassroots support and serve as messengers for the President's re-election campaign in the state.
