I'm sure President Bush thought this was a waste of time long before the EU bureaucrats discovered that it was.

The problem is that George Bush, the executive of the worlds most powerful country, is not on equal terms with his hosts. Theres a pretence that Bertie speaks for all 25 nations of the EU, when of course he only really speaks for a tiny nation. And Prodi is a lame duck on his way out, a Brussels official said.
That official could probably loose his job if identified. He is undermining the 'Common Foreign and Security Policy'. He is also telling the truth, which is extraordinarily rare in Brussels (though not necessarily a sacking-offence...yet).

Great post. Waste of time it is, the first time the EU has done something most Freepers would agree with.

I agree, meeting with Eurotrash is overrated and a waste of time.
So lets go ahead and save some time and boot the UN out of our country.

Bush is as canny as a fox. It may not be a complete waste of time. There's a lot to be learned simply from listening, watching and reading between the lines.
