WASHINGTON, DC U.S. Rep. Dave Camp (R-MI) issued the following statement.
"I think Senator Kerry is trying to become America's greatest illusionist, but people are seeing right through his act. He actually wants us to believe that he is the workers candidate, when in reality just last year the Senator from Massachusetts was fourth on SEIU's list to be the Democratic presidential nominee. Senator Kerry tries to compare today's economy to the era of the Great Depression, but the reality is our economy is growing and more people are going back to work here in Michigan and all across America. The facts just aren't on Senator Kerry's side.
America's economy is growing at its fastest rate in twenty years, with more than 1.4 million jobs created over the past nine months. President Bush's pro-growth policies are sparking an economic recovery here in Michigan where 8,300 jobs were created last month alone. Most importantly, personal incomes in Michigan are on the rise. That's real money for moms and dads to spend on their families."
This is great but I still say that we need a hit man for the GOP like the Dims have in Al Gore. Nobody listens to a congressman from Maryland. I STILL SAY JOHN MCCAIN IS THE MAN TO DO IT.
Sounds likea good guy...A few weeks ago, some of us were trying to decide which state had the worst pair of senators..obviously NY and Cal come to mind,,but MIch, with Levin and Stabenow, can't be far behind..
At least Carl is old and Debbie could be beat in 06(won with 49% last time).
Don't forget Washington... :-)
Osama bin Patti's a total moron..but the other one does have a brain, at least, and some sense of how the private sector, er, bubble economy, works...there could be much worse than Cantwell..that's why I excluded Eash from the list....IMHO, Florida's pair are worse that WASH
:-(
Is he your congresscritter? That's really depressing..I used to be in Sue Kelley's district here in NY..she's one of the good eggs..voted for all three articles of impeachment..but after the 2000 redistricting, when NY lost two HOuse seats, they redrew the lines, and now I have Nita Lowey....UGH..course, they probably did that to put my "neighbor" in a friendly district..
Fortunately, no. I'm in Jennifer Dunn's district.
But I work downtown, so he's constantly sniffing around down here. Yech.
McCain may as well be a double agent......
As for Granholm, I know I won't be voting for the Canadian wench next election. I believe she promised no new tax hikes when she ran against Posthumous last November. So far she's kept her word, no new tax hikes; however, she is filling the state coffers with higher fees of a various nature.
My Professional Engineer's license doubled.
My boat trailer registration tripled.
I guess fees aren't taxes......
Which state has the worst senators? Easy! It's my state, Kennedy and Kerry!
Will the GOP hold Dunn's seat?
I honestly don't know. I haven't been hearing much about that race, I'll have to do some checking.
