Thanks for the heads up!
It's my favorite movie.
Feel free to disagree.
I also hate that this country has started to become like Israel. But I blame the Islamo-Fascists for that. And I blame the ACLU for letting "everybody be able to do anything" without objection.
I object to people putting possible weapons on board an airplane, especially after what happened on 9/11.
Guv! Nice to see you!
"Dare I say..."
"Dare, Dare."
"THE PRESIDENCY!"
Oh my, one of my all time favs. A must-buy DVD.
sinkspur wrote:Exactly what did this kid do to scare the passengers? I don't believe that he ever threatened anyone or even showed anyone the boxcutter(s) and other items he brought on the airplane. If I remember the story right, he left them hidden in the lavatory and told TSA about it after getting off the plane. The MSNBC story that is linked to this thread never said he showed any of the items to other passengers or made any threat or statement of any kind during the flight.
Sure. Yep. That's exactly why he scared the hell out of passengers.
BushisTheMan wrote:If you were on the plane, you would never have known that this kid hid the boxcutters and other "weapons" in the lavatory. He didn't say anything to anyone or show the "weapons" to anyone while he was on the flight.
Scaring the crap out of the passengers is okay with you?If I was on the plane, this kid would still be in the hospital.
What he did was leave these "weapons" hidden in the lavatory and tell the TSA people about it after the flight landed and everyone was off the plane.
BushisTheMan wrote:The Islamakazis on 9/11 killed people by flying the airplanes they were riding in into buildings (and into the ground in one case). I don't think anyone was killed by a boxcutter on 9/11. Everyone was so afraid of the "weapon" that they just went along with the hijackers and let them take control of the airplanes.
boxcutters -- you mean those things used to kill people on 9/11 by the Muslims on the planes. Yep, harmless.
I also have serious doubts that anyone could whip out a boxcutter on a flight today and not get the crap beaten out of them by other passengers who now know there are far worse things that can happen when a hijacker pulls out a boxcutter than getting a few minor cuts from the boxcutter as you subdue the hijacker. On 9/11/2001, historically, going along with the hijackers meant you were much less likely to be injured or killed. 9/11/2001 changed that. Now, most passengers would prefer the risk of being injured in the fight over the risk of being killed in the upcoming suicide crash.
And sinkspur, just a heads up, post 45 was to you as well as BushisTheMan
I believe a passenger in first class had his throat cut with a box cutter. The rest of the passengers and crewc then complied.
You might want to recheck, but it was my understanding that someone found the box cutters. Then the FBI went back and looked at who had sent them/government letters (signed, of course). This guy was then interviewed and it was determined it was he who hid these items on previous flights he had been on. A matter of cross checking letters with flight passenger lists.

From the MSNBC StoryNothing in the story suggests the things you say. If you have other articles I should look at that support your statements, please post links. But based on what I've seen so far, your statements do not reflect the actual facts of this case.
Heatwole placed three disassembled box cutters and razor blades with tape over the sharp edges on a Southwest Airlines flight Sept. 14, along with strike-anywhere matches and about 8 ounces of liquid bleach. He also smuggled aboard modeling clay made to look like plastic explosives. During the flight, he hid the items in the rear lavatory.Heatwole told federal authorities he concealed the items on Southwest Airlines flights in an act of "civil disobedience" to expose weaknesses in security.
I've checked several other news sources and none mention any flight other than the SouthWest Airlines flight from Baltimore Washington International on September 14, 2003.
As the former President said, it was stupid, and he did it because he could. Thing is, that goes for Internet hackers, too. We could all do that but we don't. This may be covered in his mandatory class in Applied Ethics if he stays in school long enough to take the course.

The sources said the individual -- described as a male student of Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina -- was a passenger aboard the planes, and not an employee of the airline or airports. They said the individual is cooperating with officials, and they stressed he has not been arrested or detained.
The Transportation Security Administration said the individual was tracked down, in part, due to an e-mail sent to the TSA last month in which he mentioned items that were "linked" to the Thursday night discovery.
"TSA and the FBI have had this individual's activities under investigation for several months," the TSA said in a statement.
"He left a trail," said a Bush administration official, who added that the e-mail gives details of locations, times and places where contraband was put on the airplanes.
The items found aboard the two planes included box cutters, clay that resembled plastic explosives and bleach, sources familiar with the investigation said. The liquid was contained in suntan lotion bottles; the clay was inside Play-Doh containers.
The material was discovered in plastic bags in the bathrooms of the Southwest planes in New Orleans and Houston, during maintenance checks. The Houston flight originated in Austin, Texas; the New Orleans flight originated in Orlando, Florida.
My fountain pen is a deadly weapon as well
as my hands.
Maybe people should be dressed in a
straight Jacket as normal flight wear.
Jet Blues new ad goes something like this...
Welcome to Jet Blue. For your saftey please
slip on these these comfortable straight jackets
before entering the aircraft.
Thank You and Enjoy Your Flight!!!
One more thing, F-Word the ACLU...
